I have an alert travel agent that just saved us $500.00 on our Journey cruise in April 2010. Because of our age 55+ we were given a senior discount. We LOVE our travel agent!:):)

Do the Azamara cruises normally offer senior discounts? We did not get one for an August cruise. We just got the cost noted online at the time - and we used a cruise travel agent.

Check Azamara's site periodically. If a particular cruise is selling, then they sometimes offer some additional discounts.

In order to see & book the various discount fares (senior & regional) you must input the relevant information on the website's booking page. Otherwise, you'll only see the "rack" rates.

They are not offered on all cruises, only on those that aren't selling well or there's just a few cabins left they want to fill up.

From my experience with RCCL and Celebrity, if you haven't made your final payment yet, they just adjust the price so you owe less at final payment. I assume Azamara would be the same. If you have made final payment, sometimes they will give you a refund and other times it is in OBC.

Of course, you can cancel and rebook. However, Azamara and othe associated lines adopted a new policy recently. They guarantee price but you get OBC not cash back. It may present a problem if you've made a final payment. Then you can only get OBC...nice if you really would enjoy spending it, but not if you don't endulge.
