Are wine glasses available in the cabins? If not, I assume that we can ask our steward to bring us a couple of glasses?
Thanks ahead!

You can ask your steward to bring wine glasses, but you can get better quality glasses yourself just by asking at any bar and then keeping them in your room. Just clean them and put them in a location where the steward does not think they are just dirty glasses and takes them away.

There should be two in your room when you arrive, either in the desk cabinet or on the tray with the water pitcher. Often there is a corkscrew there too. If you need either, or want additional glasses, just ask your steward.

You can also ask the cabin steward to remove the wine glasses. We didn't want them and had them removed.
We've only had wine glasses in cabins with the mini refridgerators. Inside and outside cabins on R and S class ships don't have wine glasses.

Remove? Wine glasses? Then we would have to drink directly out of the bottle! :p
Thanks for the info!

I see something in your signature about 'winemaker'. Seeing as you apparently will be bringing your own wine, why not bring a couple of glasses. If you are particular, that way you will have have just what you enjoy drinking from. Easier (and lighter weight) to pack them than the bottles of wine. :)

When you bring the box of wine, I think it comes with a couple of straws. That way you don't risk the chance of spillage.......

No...I think the straws depend on the box wine vintage....whether AM or PM???:p

Yeah, I thought about that, but most of the really good glasses are also very fragile, and I just don't want the hassle of trying to transport them from Ohio to Floriday without ending up with little shards of glass when we get there. I figure on a ship like this there have to be some decent wine glasses that I can get ahold of.
Our roll call is organizing a cabin to cabin "wine crawl" for one day during the cruise. We will go from cabin to cabin sampling wine that we have brought with us. I was just trying to figure out if we would have glasses or if we would need to ask for them.
Thanks all for your help!

Don't be silly. It depends on the day of the week, not the hour of the day. Monday vintage, straw. Wednesday vintage, no straw. :D

Doesn't the Pinnacle Grill use Riedel glasses? Maybe you could "borrow" a couple for your cruise...

Yep, that is kinda what I thought. I figured I would just ask the steward if he could get me a couple that I can keep in the cabin for the week.

We had no problem getting additional wine glasses from our stewart and even 4 champagane glasses for a special sail away party. The stewarts are most accommodating.

On our TA cruise in April I asked the concierge if I could have a couple of Reidel glasses, which he duly organised with the maitre 'd of the Pinnacle.
There is nothing more special than drinking fine wines out of a beautiful glass.
I made sure to wash them each time they were used and then on our last day organised that they be returned to the Pinnacle.
Wonderfull sitting on the balcony looking at the blue water of the Atlantic with a reidel glass of fine red wine.
Holland America you rock!!!!!
ciao,
Cristiano.
