I would appreciate advise on the visa process. Also, are any vaccinations needed? We will be arriving in B.A. 1 day early.

You MUST have a visa for Brazil. We got ours from Zierer visa service, you can download the information form and then send it all to them. Had ours back in 7 days.
Great service. You will need to get one passport type picture ( per person) to go with the info form ( and your passport) to send, plus the cost of the visa, plus Zierers fees. Send it Fed Ex and that is how it is returned to you.

According to the Department of State http://travel.state.gov/visa/americans1.html#a, US citizens do not need visas to visit Argentina but they do have to have passports. The Centers for Disease Control web site suggests travelers to Argentina should be innoculated against hepatitis 'A.'

You don't need visa for Argentina but you do for Brazil.
