We are taking a 1 day cruise from Vancouver to Seattle May 2nd. This will be our first time on the Amsterdam and 1st cruise with Holland America. So what are the "do not miss", favorite features? Keep in mind, we do have less than 24 hours.

less than 24 hours -- Ocean Bar or the Crow's Nest is great for drinks.
The Pinnacle Grill is great for dinner.

In just an overnight it's kind of hard to do much of anything.
I'd suggest don't miss dinner, then go to the show. Maybe a drink afterwards.

I think for a 1-nighter the Pinnacle Grill would be a great way to enjoy dinner. It's $20/pp but you get an incredible meal...
My advice:
Don't miss the crab cakes or the chocolate volcano cake :)
Also check out the Digital Workshop. The techspert MAY or may not have something going that day, but you can at least stop in and get an idea about the offerings in there, all complimentary.
Also, even on a 1 dy they ought to have a guided tour. As most public rooms will carry similar/identical names and functionality throughout the fleet, it's a great time to ask all the "What is this for? What else does this room do/host? Where does _____ take place?" and so on.
Have a blast. The Amsterdam is a beauty I've been on several times!

Book a suite and bring all your drycleaning. Its free! :)
Disclaimer: For those of you without a sense of humor, this is a joke.

Be sure to take a stroll through the Atrium to see the Astrolabe (sp?) clock centerpiece. Beautiful!

All 4 sides are different (something not everyone realizes) so make sure you have several photos left on your camera before you start taking them :)
