When will Holland America release their 2011 schedule for Transatlantic sailings? We're primarily interested in April cruises. I'd expect that these schedules would be available by the end of 2009, but I've never looked for Transatlantic sailings this early. I've booked other cruises about eighteen months before the cruise, but I don't think that the cruiselines schedule Transatlantics this far in advance.

I've been waiting for these itineraries too. Hopefully, someone can tell us when to expect them.
Thanks for asking the question.

We are already booked on the Queen Victoria, for March 2011, a 16 day TA from Florida to England, with port stops in Port Canavaral, South Carolina,
Bermuda, the Azores, Lisbon, LaHava, Cork and Southampton.

Don't know if other cruiselines have 2011 TAs available, because we wanted to check out Cunard and did not look any further.

The March 2011 Queen Victoria re-positioning TA is considered part of the Winter 2011 calendar -- Cunard issued its press release on April 13th, 2009, announcing its 2010 and Winter 2011 itineraries.HAL issued its press release announcing 2010 Europe itineraries on June 25, 2009.Both those dates seem to be about the same as in previous years, IIRC. Bottom line -- I don't think it will be until next spring at the earliest before Cunard and HAL announce their 2011 TA's. I don't know what the other lines do, but presume they do so at about the same time frame.Dave

I am also waiting for the schedule to be posted. I have my husband 90% talked into doing a Fort Lauderdale to the Med cruise in 2011. Just hoping the Nieuw Amsterdam is doing that route then. I have a future cruise credit tucked away just for that itinerary and plan to snap it up when the schedules are announced.

All destinations come out approximately a year in advance and along with the brochures.

Transatlantic cruises are attached to the Europe brochures, which usually appear in the April-June ballpark... So... April-June 2010 you will see 2011 transatlantics.

If you want to get something going "now" though, call reservations or your TA and ask to do a Future Cruise Request.

Do you need to have a future cruise certificate in order to do this? I don't have one. Assuming that you don't need one, what is the procedure? Is it possible that only a subset of travel agents would know how to handle this?

A couple of April 2011 transatlantic cruises are already on the HAL website, like 10th April, Piraeus, Greece to Fort Lauderdale on Amsterdam, and 15th April Venice, Italy to Fort Lauderdale on Prinsendam. Both pretty epic voyages I would imagine!

Thanks. We're looking primarily for Eastbound transatlantics that are either packaged as longer cruises, or a 14 day cruise that we can append a European cruise thru the British Isles, Northern Europe or Baltics, but those you pointed out are certainly attractive cruises for others.

We're interested in a Transatlantic cruise for March 2011 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I did a little checking and mostly all I saw was the Cunard voyage...a little lengthy...and a little too expensive. I'll re-visit this in a couple months. ;)

Oceania has a 19 nite cruise on the Insignia in mid March, 2011. They call it a Transatlantic cruise, and I guess that it is, but the itinerary is from Buenos Aires to Barcelona, with a lot of sea days. The price doesn't seem too bad for Oceania ($3500 pp for an Oceanview; Balconies starting at about $4200), but that does include airfare, and getting to Buenos Airies can be really expensive. I'm not interested in this, but if I wanted to try out Oceania, a cruiseline that people speak highly of, I'd consider this cruise.
