We will be boarding the Eurodam this Sat 12/5 in FLL. We absolutely hate dealing with the crowds in the lido on any ship on embarkation day. Has the MDR on the Eurodam been open then-what hours?? Can we count on this?? (we are Mariners) What do we do with our carry-ons if in the MDR?
We will be arriving in FLL on Friday and overnighting at the Hampton Inn.
Is room service available if we wait to board after the rooms are ready?? Assuming after 1-130 pm.
We are considering just getting lunch elsewhere and boarding later, but are aware the Oasis is also leaving that day on its inaugural voyage, and don't want to delay our arrival at the ship too late in case the port is overwhelmed.
If all else fails we know we won't starve, and can eat a granola bar and show up early for our assigned anytime dining.
Suggestions please

Can we count on this?? (we are Mariners) What do we do with our carry-ons if in the MDR? We saw many people taking their carry-ons into the dining room for lunch.. On our Zuiderdam cruises we had lunch from 11:30 - 1:30 PM.

Since the Oasis will be in port the same as you -- get to the ship early!! The port is really going to be busy as this will be the Oasis's first official cruise and there will be a lot of "Hopp La" going on.

There is no reason ehy you should eat a granola bar. You can also go to the Lido -- the Grill -- so many choices!!

I agree with KK. On our Nov 7 cruise we arrived about 10:30 and were in group 3 which were let on at 11:10 am. They gave you the choice of main dining room or Lido. We chose the main dining room. We just put our luggage out of the way, but in sight, while eating lunch. By the time we were done eating about 1-1:15 they rooms were ready and we dropped off our luggage. It was a wonderful, relaxing lunch.

Enjoy your cruise!

We are considering just getting lunch elsewhere and boarding later,The Lido is usually open for lunch until about 4:00p on embarkation day, so you could board around 1:30>2:00, drop off your carry-ons in your room, and still have a couple of hours in the Lido without much crowd to get lunch. Or, if the rooms are not ready when you board, ask if there is a place to check your carry-ons. There often is.

Sept 26 embarkation on the Eurodam, straight to the MDR for a nice sit down lunch, no crowd, and met some wonderful people. Rooms were ready shortly after we finished eating!
