Hi,

I am putting together an album to give my husband for Christmas to show him what our trip to the Panama Canal will be like. (This is his Christmas Present). Is there a place where people share their photos of the ship and the excursions? If so could I copy of few of them to show my husband. He has always wanted to do this, so I know he will be excited.

Thanks for any photos and help.

Peg

You can also have him view the cams at the locks via their link:

Even if there is not a cruise ship going through, it is still fascinating. there is also another forum dealing with just Panama Canal transits and activities, seacruisechat dot com. EM

Ahoy!

Your more than welcome to use any of the shots on our Picasa site (see link below my signature). You'll need to scroll down to 3/18/08, Panama Canal folder.

Unfortunately it was a bit overcast that day. It was also a partial transit so we took the ferry over to the Pacific side so we got up close to some of the locks.

There are also shots of dredges, the Gaillard Cut Expansion project, the Millinium Bridge, Bridge of the Americas, etc.

Have a wonderful Christmas.

Bon Voyahe & Good Health!

Thank you all for being so kind to share your photos with me. They are all great. I am getting excited just looking at them. It is killing me not to tell him about this trip for 2 more weeks, but I will make it. He will love this trip.

Thanks again,

Peg

How did you like the tour to the Pacific Side? I signed us up for it as it looked really nice.

...especially if your husband is "into" engineering stuff. We enjoyed it very much. It will give you a different prospective versus going through the locks on a cruise ship.

Here's a blurb from a review I wrote :

"PANAMA CANAL: We chose to do a HAL ferry transit excursion (no choice really, couldn't get off the ship otherwise) after going through the Gatun Locks. After having read McCullough's The Path Between the Seas and viewing his Nova documentary (which features the Prinsendam back when it was with Royal) I was pumped to get up close with the Pacific side locks. I wasn't disappointed. Men literally did move a mountain. It was well worth the endless bus drives and humidity. Next visit we'll check out the Embera Village tour which I'v heard lots of good things about. "

Have a great cruise!

Bon Voyage, Good Health & Happy Holidays!
Bob:)

Bob, May I use some of your Stateroom photos for the HAL Stateroom/Cabins Site?

I enjoyed your pictures of the Canal. They brought back memories of our 06 transit east to LA.
How are things in Prescott? Born in Yuma and went to school in Flag.

And as my Uncle that came to Yuma in 1907 said. I am now a galvanized prunepicker.
