Thanks for the "heads up" .... just switched to Travel Channel. They're showing "Cruising Do's and Don'ts"

Cool. I'm retired so I'm just going to sit back and get in the mood for the Caribbean in Feb.

I have not turned it on yet but sadly my guess is that everything being shown is at least 5 years old:rolleyes: The Travel Channel has not had new footage about cruising in years. While good for someone that is brand new to cruising and not paid attention to the Travel Channel before, those of us that have cruised quite a long time have seen every segment they have done on cruising at least 5 times. Got bets they will show the one about NCL where they interview James Deering who has been gone from NCL for over 5 years :D

The Travel Channel, whenever I check it out, is really lame these days. When we first got it in our cable package, we were excited to have it because we'd caught some programs in motels, etc. Their standards have really slipped in the last couple of years, though. National Geographic Channel, the Science Channel, History and History International take us to many more interesting places. It was NatGeo that broadcast the wonderful QM2 documentary not long ago. Of course we're partial to Rick Steves, our local travel guru, who is on PBS and NPR.

I also like to watch Rick Steves. Wish he would get rid of his 80s aviator glasses, though.

The most recent cruise show I've seen is Cruise, Inc. on MSNBC (I think). It features an NCL ship and is very realistic, IMO.

Thanks for the notice. I enjoyed watching a couple of shows while tucking into my lunch awhile ago.:)
