For those of you sailing who haven't heard there has been an itinerary change. We will be in HMC on December 27 from 8 to 5 instead of the last day. The last day will now been in Nassau on January 4 from 1-7. So for those of us who have no use for Nassau, this make a great packing day. No stress, no worries.

Just got this from the travel agent.

Looking forward to meeting up with my fellow Canadians on board as well as my fellow CC'ers

I called HAL to confirm my shore excursion on HMC due to the date change. If there is another ship in port that day and you have a cabana or excursion planned it may pay to check and see if you are still booked at the same time.

According to the website at www.cruisecal.com, we will be sharing the island with the Statendam. I'm just hoping they changed the booking over. I had a clamshell booked, but if not I'll have to survive. I'm not sure about other cruise lines who use Half Moon, but call it by a different name. I guess we'll see. Maybe they moved the Statendam too.

See you on the beach.

Clamshells are in high demand on HMC now because the shade from the trees was taken away by the storms. The leaves have not grown back yet.

If you're in doubt about the status of your clamshell, I would suggest you get on to HAL and reconfirm.

We were just there on the Volendam, sharing with the Oosterdam, and people who did not book clamshells in advance were out of luck and frustrated.

Hope you get it worked out and have a great time there. Merry Christmas, DFD

The Statendam is actually in Hawaii, though?

Actually, it's the Zaandam.
The Statendam is in Honolulu.

I also double checked HMC schedule.

Zaandam and Volendam will be on HMC on the same.

This could be a problem for people who have booked cabanas.

What do you mean about other cruise lines who use Half Moon Cay? Only HAL uses HMC.....occassionally Carnival sends a ship there but it is not very often, so far as I know it is only during the summer and I have never heard of any Carnival ship being at HMC at the same time an HAL ship was there.

Has anyone ever heard of an HAL ship sharing the island with a Carnival ship?

Last year when Carnival used HMC a few times for one of their ships, the Carnival ship was always there on a different day than HAL.

As far as I know and looking at the calendar, HAL is using HMC exclusively for the first few months of 2005. I didn't check beyond May.
