Hi! We are booked on the Noordam TATL this May. I was interesting in looking at next year's repositioning and TATL cruises, but find there are none on the schedule, even though most of the rest of the schedule appears to be out. Does HAL usually release the TATL and repositioning cruise schedule later? If so, does anyone know how much later?

Excerpt from a VERY recent press release:

Europe cruises
In 2011 Holland America Line will feature seven ships cruising the Mediterranean, Baltic and Northern Europe from Civitavecchia (Rome), Venice, Barcelona, Dover (London), Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Athens and Amsterdam. Both ms Nieuw Amsterdam and ms Noordam will sail the Mediterranean all season. The Nieuw Amsterdam, which debuts on July 4, 2010, will offer 12-day sailings while the Noordam will feature seven- and 10-day cruises.
The ms Ryndam will sail a series of Mediterranean and Northern Europe cruises ranging from seven to 21 days. The ms Rotterdam will also sail Northern Europe and Mediterranean itineraries of seven to 12 days, including some that feature the Black Sea and the Holy Land. The Rotterdam will also sail two nine-day historic transatlantic cruises mid-season.
The ms Eurodam begins her 2011 season with two seven-day Mediterranean sailings and then offers ten- and 12-day cruises in the Baltic. Both the ms Prinsendam and ms Maasdam will also feature Europe cruises, the Maasdam again sailing its traditional transatlantic roundtrip itinerary from Boston that visits Greenland and Iceland.
Many of the above cruises can be combined into Collectors’ Voyages ranging from 17 to 39 days. Holland America will begin accepting 2011 Europe cruise bookings late January 2010.

Dutch, you really give good accurate information. In 2010 the AMSTERDAM is doing a two week Alaskan gig out of Seattle. Is the Company going to repeat this in 2011?

Believe it or not, the answer to that was from the same News Release. Here's the whole thing:

"We’ll offer more sailings in Europe in 2011 to meet the increase in demand for European itineraries,” said Richard D. Meadows, CTC, executive vice president, marketing, sales, and guest programs. “Our guests are finding a cruise to be the best value for their money in Europe, and interest in Mediterranean and Northern European itineraries continues to grow.”

Thanks! By "accept bookings", I guess they mean announce the schedule and pricing.
We are finding the transatlantic cruises to be very cost efficient-- even with the one way fare back.

Hello All,

I am always plotting and scheming when it comes to travel and so I made some assumptions of what may occur in 2011 with respect of TA crossings so bare with me:

EURODAM:

Last scheduled cruise arrives back in FL(Fort Lauderdale) on Saturday 2nd April 2011 and then next listed cruise is out of New York to Quebec on 10th September 2011.

Assumption is that it will sail out of FL on Saturday 2nd April 2011 for its repositioning (TA) for the European summer and possibly to Rome or Venice and then begins her 2011 season with two seven-day Mediterranean sailings and then offer ten and 12-day cruises in the Baltic.

NIEUW AMSTERDAM:

Last scheduled cruise arrives back in FL on Sunday 3rd April 2011.

Assumption is that it will sail out of FL on Sunday 3rd April 2011 for its repositioning (TA) to Europe and then do the 12 day sailings of the Meditteranean likely out of Venice.

NOORDAM:

Last scheduled cruise arrives back in FL on Thursday 7th April 2011.

Assumption is that it will sail out of FL on Thursday 7th April 2011 for its repositioning (TA) to Europe and then do the 7 & 10 day sailings of the Meditteranean likely out of Rome.

As I say these are my assumptions only based on the facts as I see them so please no "missiles"......:)

Also these are the only 3 ships that I would consider for a TA and therefore no assumptions of the other 4 ships

Hope this makes some sence!

ciao,

Cristiano.

PS Where has spell check gone !!!!!
