Does the Westerdam have washer and dryers on each deck?

No. There are no public laundry facilities on Westerdam (any of the Vista/Signature class ships).
HAL does have wonderful laundry and dry cleaning and there are laundry packages on most cruises.

Sorry - no. The older/smaller ships have self laundry. The Vista/Signature ships don't. Westerdam is a Vista.

I know that this question is answered somewhere, but I've run out of patience trying to find it. Please help. We will be on the Noordam in March and intend to use the bag method of wash/dry and fold. However we may need some clothes pressing. Does anyone know the prices charged for various items? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Krazy Kruizers. I also thought that there was a specific price for single items suck as trousers or shirts. I could be wrong but I thought I saw that some place. Thanks again.

If you want self serve Laundries then book the Princendam, The Statendam, Maasdam, Ryndam, Veendam, Rotterdam, Volendam, Zaandam or Amsterdam. They all have them

Yes -- there is a list in your cabin where you ca have items pressed separately -- I don't remember the prices -- but is was expensive to do things individually -- some prices were like $5 and $6 for 1 item.
You might be wise if you have lot of pressing to be done to get the package and have items pressed at the beginning of the cruise.

On the S- and R-class ships the washers are $2.00, and the dryers are $1.00 (or the reverse; I can never remember). The machines take quarters; change is available at the Front Desk. Soap is provided; bring your own dryer sheets.
On the Prinsendam there is no charge in the self-service laundry.

We'll be on the Amsterdam in Alaska for 14 days so even though we'll use the ship's laundry for slacks (hubby's heavy 'work' ones) I'll be using the washer and dryer for many of our other items. Do you remember how many dryer minutes you get for $1.00? I know that some laundromat dryers take 2 cycles for socks and hubby's undertees if the cycle is only 15 minutes and not too hot. I wondered if that's going to be the case on the Amsterdam.
Of course I could take them out after one cycle and have them finish drying in the cabin.

There is at least one iron and ironing board in the self-serve laundry rooms. On some ships there are two boards and two irons in each laundry room.
RuthC, you are right, it is $2.00 to wash, and $1.00 to dry, except for Prinsendam, which, as you mentioned, is still free.

I wondered if that's going to be the case on the Amsterdam. My last cruise was on the Rotterdam. There were BRAND NEW washers and dryers in the laundry room that we used. They were nice and large (washers held MUCH more than the old ones) with digital count-downs. IIRC, the dryers were about 30-min, but it could have been longer, certainly not shorter.
