Hey all...

My family and I are planning to take a cruise to Alaska on the Ryndam this coming May. Does anyone have a list of the on-board activities typical for the Vancouver-Vancouver 7 day trip?

What I'm really interested in are naturalist lectures (if there are any) and dancing... basically, how much of each there are. Also, whether the gym facilities are adequate or not.

Thanks,

Dave.

It depends on the naturalist- but you can expect at least 4 programs. If going to Glacier Bay you will have park rangers on board with ongoing commentary and usually a program.

We did the Alaska cruise on Ryndam this past May and were on her again in November when we went to Mexico. The ship had gone through the signature of excellence upgrade and was really very nice. We enjoyed the naturalists onboard the ship and found them very informative. As far as the gym it was greatly improved since our first trip. Now has more treadmills, crosstrainers and increased the number of free weights. There are small tvs on all cardio equipment so bring your headset to listen to the sound. If you are interested in spa treatments they have enhanced that area the most.

Your sure to have a good time.

WE have done several Alaskan cruises - 3 on Ryndam.

You will not find a lot of activities on an Alaskan cruise. They will have naturalists on board. They also expect people to enjoy the scenery - whatever glacier area you go to. And in port they expect people to be off the ship, taking tours, etc.

There was only 1 or 2 dance classes the entire time - country line dancing.
