We are thinking of taking a LONG cruise on the Amsterdam this fall. We are used to having a balcony cabin on Princess ships, but are considering an oceanview on the Amsterdam, Category D, Cabin #3388 on Lower Promenade Deck. Can anyone give us information on this particular cabin, please? Thanks in advance for any advice on this location.

Bring earplugs, just in case! We were in 3385, on the starboard side, and had a lot of noise all night from the galley above us. But CC member Boytjie had 3384 and didn't have enough noise to bother him.
We think the easy access to the Promenade is great, and we weren't bothered by people passing by, but next time I'd pick one back under the dining room.

The outside cabins on Lower Promenade are smaller than the ones on Main Deck. As a matter of fact, they're smaller than the insides across the passageway. And the bathroom is also smaller than the inside cabin's.
However, the location is excellent! Easy access to the great outdoors!
If I were choosing an outside cabin on this ship, I would pick one on Main Deck, between the forward and mid-ship elevators.

Thank you all for your great responses. Looking at the deck plans, I was a little afraid of that location (3388 on Lower Promenade) because of the above galley. The itinerary we are looking at is the Seattle to San Diego cruise in the fall - 69 days, so cabin location is pretty important to us.
Also, I'm a little nervous about a small ship for that length of time - don't want DH to be bored! We don't fly anymore and would love to get back to Japan since that's where we started our married life when DH was in the Army during the Korean war. We'll be celebrating our 55th anniversary, and when I came across this itinerary, I thought it would be perfect for the occasion.
We've cruised only twice with HA - Oosterdam and Volendam, but we have 22 cruises with Princess primarily on their large ships. We took the Star Princess for 60 days b/b from SF to SYD and back to LA last fall and liked it so much we booked it again for this fall, but then this Amsterdam itinerary popped up and has us intrigued!
I guess I need a little more encourgement from you faithful HA cruisers. All your comments are most welcome!

The Amsterdam isn't "small" if you cut your teeth on ships in the 20-25 thousand ton range.
You posted that you sailed the Volendam. The Amsterdam is essentially identical in terms of layout and public rooms. The activities will be similar.
