LizB1.

Hope you will enjoy our country.
Look at the right side of the ship, 1 hr. after leaving Amsterdam.
If you see some people waving to you, big chance it is us.
We live close to the Northsea Channel and often go and watch ships pass by.

Enjoy your cruise.

Frankenlouis. We hebben de festiviteiten meegemaakt tijdens de doop in Rotterdam, zo voorzichtig aan met dit schip.

To all others: have a good cruise-year.

Ine...this time we will again be sailing into the Port of Rotterdam (down the Maas River) instead of going into Amsterdam. Either way we are always greeted by many folks waiving to us.

LizB1.

You will see that Rotterdam is totally different then Amsterdam.
However it is a nice city also.
If you have time, go and visit the city of Delft, an old and attractive city.
Visit Porcelyene Fles, where the best quality of Delft Blue is made.

Hi Ine! I have been lucky enough to have visited your country at least eight times since 1956 so am quite familiar with both Rotterdam and Amsterdam as well as many other towns and villages. Delft happens to be one of my favorite places and we have many fine Delft pieces from Porcelyne Fles (sp?)...many I bought when we were traveling overland in 1956 and 1966 (stayed at the Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam) so you can imagine how much I paid for them at that time. We are also fortunate to have made friends (thru HAL cruises over the years) who have taken us by car to visit many small villages outside both Rotterdam and Amsterdam. We always look forward to our visits -- although most are now by cruises and not overland. When we are there next August I may stay on the ship as I know of many former HAL staff/officers who will be visiting that day, whereas my husband will probably do the Maas River cruise again which he thoroughly enjoys.

Have a very Happy and Healthy 2005 and perhaps we will meet on one of those "DAM" ships sometime.
