Have sailed Oosterdam previously and enjoy Celebrity and RCCL. Have booked Volendam. Will we be happy? Any recent cruisers with info on Volendam or any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My family and I sailed on the Volendam 10/17/04 I had a lot of reservations and at one point was ready to cancel but people like Rev neil put my mind at rest. We boarded this cruise and I was stunned by the beauty and size of this ship the cleanliness, service food was brilliant although we did find the lido a little repetative after about two days we had a great time, our ages were mixed 75,49,47,45,19,18 and 11 they took care of all of us. Dottie the cruise director did a good job, and to top it all off I won a weeks cruise on the the last night,wont travel any other way from now on only HAL.:) :)

We sailed on the Volendam December 6th of this year. For us it was a great cruise experience. Prior to this cruise we had cruised on Princess Grand Class ships for three years and while we liked those cruises we liked HAL and the Volendam better in almost all respects.

Thanks Pilot 70D. Read your report. Sounds like things are fine on the Volendam, contrary to other opinions I've heard. We are now looking forward to our cruise. You've made us feel better about our decision.

We were on the same sailing as Pilot70D, and we too were very happy with the Volendam. In fact, we were so happy, that we now have a new favorite ship, and we are looking for more sailings on this ship. The ship is well maintained, and the crew is excellent.
