View Full Version : Has anyone been on the Veendam recently?

I will be sailing on the Veendam in July. Is it a pretty ship? I'm worried I will be disappointed after just being on RCL Freedom of the Seas. I'm not expecting a wow factor but I want it to be nice. Any opinions?

We'll be on the Veendam in about 10 days. We've not been on her before, but have sailed many other HAL ships. They are all lovely, and I'm sure you'll have a great trip.
Not glitzy, glitzy, but very classy.

We were on her Oct. 2009... A very good time was had by all. All in all a very good cruise

It's a nice ship but it's going to feel small to you after Freedom. But OTOH you won't be walking as far up and down corridors to get around!

sailed on the Veendam to Alaska 2005 - my first HAL ship --- loved the ship - best food ever on HAL was on our Veendam cruise.
we are also on the Veendam in about 10 days (waving to Helaine! see you onboard)....will let you know.
The Veendam was very classy, elegant, although a smaller ship - was very comfortable and cozy - and the service and attention to detail was unbeatable! Hope our South America cruise is the same!
