When I checked with my PVP the Early Saver rate was still better than a group rate, even if we split the cost of the free cabin among the group. Although, we could get points for strawberries, parties, pictures and stuff like that if we did a group rate, the price was still better going ES. The only reason we booked was to get the cabin we wanted. We can always change it if we get a better deal somewhere else.

Beth - as the OP, I believe that you can email one of the Moderators and they can fix the date issue. Otherwise, we'll just start over since it is only us on here anyway.

I can't remember who said they were going to get info on group rates....I know I said I would ask my TA, but several people in my group from the Freedom was not happy with getting the TA to fulfill their part of the perks...so I am not gooing there.

Hi Everyone! My name is Glenn and I am a cruisaholic!:p I will be traveling with my Cruisaholic wifey Patty who goes by Hot and Sexy Mamma!:D

Beth, I wouldn't worry about the date since nobody can actually book this ship for 9/12. Of course the Moderator can fix it thought!

Marylou, I will check with my PVP and see what he comes up with. I usually go to Cruise dot com and they show at least past guest rates along with military discounts but they don't show the dates open yet. Carnival may not have released them to third parties yet.

Karen, we would never hide from you! You and Mary are the life of the party! I just watched our Freedom DVD again and had a good laugh watching all you ladies partying on the sail back from Virgin Gorda! Crazy!

Glenn - I am going to wait to book till I hear back from you or one of the others looking in to a group rate. Bud and I are going for an inside cabin again on the Riviera deck as we love the deck and the inside cabins. I know that having a balcony or window is nice, but we love the total rest and sleep we get in those cabins.

I'll check out the sie you mentioned in the mean time.....

I know that when we talked to the Future Cruise Reps on the Freedom, they also said that the Early Saver rate was better than Group rates at this point. A way for Carnival to book for you and keep them from having to pay a commission to the TA, I would guess.

Hey, gang! So from what I am gathering here, we might not have 8 cabins to check out the group rate. We will probably just go through our TA since she always gives us the same lowest rate as Carnival or the other cruise web-sites give.

So............Marylou - you'll need to start checking out a place for our pre-cruise Meet & Greet in Cocoa Beach!

And Glenn - Would we have enough time for Blue Lagoon?!?! :D

Probably not Dianne. I wished they would either make it another sea day or figure out how we can get a little more time in Nassau. There really is not enough time to do a nice excursion. We either end up shopping, touring the Atlantis or boozing it up at Senor Frogs. Actually that sounds pretty good!

When I was on Carnival and was pricing things out, it said the cove balconies were catagory 7C. They appear to be $889 per person (so not any cheaper).

This is from the Carnival website:

Includes stateroom categories: 7C Cove Balcony.
Note: Category 7C (not pictured) features a cove style balcony. Click here (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/cms/fun/ships/staterooms/cove_stateroom.aspx) to view.
8A, 8B, 8C, 8D, 8E and 8F Standard Balcony.
8M and 8N Aft-view Extended Balcony.
9C Premium Vista Balcony.
8P and 8S Spa Balcony. Inclusive spa stateroom amenities for 1st & 2nd guests ONLY – fees applied to 3rd & 4th guests.

Hey guys - We got our Cove Balcony for $749.00. It is the early saver rate which is the non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel you will only lose $50.00. The rest will be applied to a future cruise with 1 year to use it. I realize that you don't see that online, but it is available when you call Carnival.

Is the Early Saver rate the one where I can pick a specific cabin, or just a cabin category? Since we usually go with inside cabins for the peace and quiet they give, I am picky about the location.

I am SOOOO excited to be planning our Part Deux trip!

I too wish we had more time in Nassau...but if we don't have time to go to Atlantis, or on an excursion...drinking with my CC Buds at Senor Frogs sounds like the best way to spend the day!

I just spoke with Carnival because I had a question on the Future Cruise certificate we purchased on the Freedom. I remember hearing that we buy the cert for $100, and receive $100 OBC...but I thought I remembered hearing that $100 was also deducted from either the deposit or the final price.

They verified the OBC, and told me to send in the certificate after I booked the cruise. The full deposit is due at the time of booking, but Carnival will deduct $100 from the total balance due after the deposit.

Glenn, I still have the name of your PVP, so I may be calling him later today after I am done with payroll...woo-hoo! Here we go again!!!

Yvonne- the cove balcony's are lower on the ship and therefore extremely close to the water. I have read some reviews and people seem to love them. If watching the water does not make you sick, it should be an awesome balcony. Also, being low and if you get center ship there is much less movement. We thought we would give it a try. It's the first ever for a ship to have balcony's cut out of the hull. Way cooooool!!!:D

Good Morning, All!! Heard back from our TA and I think we will go ahead and book today.

She said she can handle the groups, but before we could book we would need 8 cabins committed, then we would get one cruiser fare free. Also, she's almost positive that because of Early Saver Rates it would still be a $250. deposit since it's non-refundable. From what I've read here on CC, I think we'd need an official Cruise Critic Cruise to swing the $25. dep. We really don't need a "formal" Meet & Greet now that we already know each other and I don't know if the strawberries or photo coupon would be worth the hassle, do you??

I'm sure Debbie and Dave will join us - their anniversary is Sept. 11th so they always cruise around that time. I think right now she's so involved with her Official CC cruise in Oct., she's probably not thinking about Dream '11 yet!

I'm up for the cocktail party, in fact, over the weekend Kevin said for the next one we should just go ahead and do 2 hours worth - that hr. did go fast. I liked the gift exchange, too - we could just do inexpensive silly gifts. I still have the "raffle tickets!" :)

She did mention on her latest e-mail that she could hold a block of 8 rooms in any category with Early Saver pricing and that we could just share the cost of the free person between us. Deposit would be the same, though - $250. per person. I replied that I didn't know if we have 8 rooms yet ready to go with their down payment since we have a lot of people still paying on their 2010 cruises. I've asked her how long she could hold a "block."

I saw on the Travel Channell that there are quite a few of Samantha's cruise shows on Friday and Saturday. Most are repeats, but I always enjoy watching them again and again.

I've set my DVR so that I can catch them and keep them so I can watch whenever I want! One of them is the "Cruising Do's and Don'ts" which has been on. My SIL is joining me on my cruise this September. She has never, ever cruised before. She will probably enjoy the show!

Are we the only ones who have booked it already?

I'm thinking about backing out of our reservation now until they post Early Saver or Military Rates and will just have to take our chances on getting a cove balcony!! :(

Yes, Dianne. It was the early saver rate and it was before taxes etc. The grand total for the two of us was $1630.92. I'm not sure that TA's have the ability to book yet. They just opened it at Carnival on Saturday. When I called Alan on his cell phone on Saturday, he didn't even know it was open yet.

You can always go through CCL instead. They will give you the best rate between ES or Military.

Good luck. Sounds like the TA is a dingbat. :D

Looks like I may have to go thru Carnival - we canceled the booking. She's always been great for our past 6 cruises & matched the lowest prices, but we've never booked 19 months ahead before! She said that she called Carnival reservations and they didn't know about an Early Saver yet! Weird! Has anyone else received an Early Saver quote for this cruise from their PVP?

Below is an email I received from my PVP. This is in response to an email I sent him regarding our rate. We had originally booked the Past Guest rate because we were concerned about the non refundable deposit. However, after discussing the fact that we would only lost $50.00 each and the remainder would go to a future booking we were comfortable with the early saver rate. As you can see he has booked us under the ES rate and acknowledged that it would be better than the group rate.

Got it so I switched the 2011 cruise to early saver and I saw you moved your cabin for 2010 to inside and I switched that to early saver. So the rest of the grp for Sept 2011 will want to go on early saver which is cheaper than group rates correct?

Wait now didn't Glenn say his PVP was quoting the same price so maybe its just a overlook on Carnival's part. Heck look at the way their website has been running lately. I got the date mixup that Marylou came upon also for two days. I would enter 09/10/2011 and it half the page would show January dates, the other half had the correct date. Betty girl you got it all twisted up sister the ES rate we got was through the Carnival PVP (Personal Vacation Planner). I really don't think there is a huge rush especially since you can still book ES rates for 2010 on the Dream. We are talking about 2011 after all.

You might even want to wait till you go on your Splendor cruise because you can buy one of those future cruise coupons or maybe even get a better deal on the Dream for booking your next cruise while being on a cruise.

Now you probably are asking so why didn't you do that WELL I am the kind of person who likes a for sure deal plus Beth got me all excited I just could not hold back. BE QUIET GLENN

Let her be upset Dianne. TA's and PVP's have access to exactly the same deals including ES rates. You will even find the ES deals on Carnivals website. TA's cannot give you a lower price then what Carnival can either contrary to popular belief. TA's however can offer perks at their own expense to get you to book with them. TA's are compensated the same as a PVP.

It is just who do you like and trust. I have heard horor stories about PVP and TA's as well I have heard people love their PVP or TA.

Dianne, it sounds like your TA is really being a b****! I'm sorry, I know that is rude, but really. I will tell you that the PVP's don't care if you transfer a booking. They have already received their bonus points for it. I have done it before when I booked with Alan, but then Costco would give us free travel insurance. He didn't mind at all and gave me the pass code needed to give the new agent. So, if you want to go through your TA, don't worry about making Alan mad. However, if it were me, I wouldn't give her anymore business just for her attitude about it. One more thing, she CAN NOT have your booking transferred without your permission. Didn't you give Alan a password to have access to your booking. Don't let her pressure you.

As I mentioned before. This date just opened to Carnival and the TA's may not have access to it yet. Having worked in the industry before, I know TA's don't always get access as quickly as the cruise line. Hell, they have to have something on them. Also, Remember that it's the cruise line, hotel, airline, car rental agency etc... that pay the TA's commission.

TGIF!! Well, after discussing with Kevin yesterday afternoon before all your feedback (which I appreciate,) I gave her our booking #. My reasons were - she was not acting mad at us at all - she's mad at Carnival and their booking system since she was unable to see the Early Saver fares. I do know she's incorrect about PVP's seeing them, though. There must be a problem with their Carnival "connection" and I am letting her work through that with her Carnival rep. I would've ignored her e-mails or just let her be upset, except that she's been so good in all our past cruises and it's really handy to use her since we are not "loyal Carnivalarians" and plan to cruise on other cruiselines (RCCL, NCL and Costa & of course, RCCL) in the future - she's one-stop shopping!! She sent me an e-mail last night & said that she is working on it with Carnival now, is off today and I should hear back from her on Monday. End of drama ....... I hope! :)

Marylou, we thought we would do a Cove on this one, but when I see the difference in price (and realize that we will be on deck alot hanging out with the Peeps), it's hard to rationalize the additional $500+. However, since we won't be booking anytime soon, we'll just see what happens with the rates, since Mike would really LOVE a Cove balcony!

Being the Italian gal you are, you would really appreciate Costa! You should keep them in mind for any future February cruises, as that is when their rates seem to be the lowest.

Balcony cabins are $4470.92/cabin

When you have a long business relationship with a person its only right to work things out especially since she did nothing wrong. I even think her booking the Dream for 2010 in error was understandable I mean how many crazy people are booking a cruise for 2011. I can think of 3  you did the honorable thing.

Another thing Dianne I remember reading something about the balcony divider doors not opening up on the cove balconies. That was in one of those links someone posted heck I could have even posted the link :o

Precious now I spit out my coffee reading what your TA quoted for the Dream. She should have been well aware that that was a error there is no way they are charging that for a cabin. Give me a break. How exciting that you booked the Epic you will have a wonderful time.

I guess I got the impression she was giving you a hard time about it and thought that was unprofessional. I used to work for a company that was totally committed to customer service and I became very intolerant of bad service. So, I apologize if my reaction was a bit harsh.

Yvonne - I also read that the dividers don't open between the coves. I have read they are a little more private than the regular balconies. I guess we will find out in about 22 months. :D

Precious - I agree with Yvonne, I think your TA should have known something was wrong with those prices. Carnival's website was all messed up the other day and I think most of us knew it was wrong. I'm happy for y'all being booked on Epic. You'll have to let us know how you like it. Too bad you are not joining us on Splendor. We are having a WATPOPWUA Light cruise. :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey, Beth - No problem! I realize my post was a bit confusing - I should've been more clear on her frustration! Oh! and we only have 19 months to find out about the balcony doors! I mentioned that because waaaayy back on page 4, the pics from zydecocruiser show the divider doors open. I read a post, though, that said Carnival told them the dividers would open but the steward said they wouldn't. When Alan, PVP, asked if we wanted next to you guys, I asked him if the dividers opened and he said "yes" but I guess it all might depend on how much $$ you slip the steward?? :p

Precious - very interesting that your TA didn't see Early Saver prices, too - definitely some problems out there!

Have these boards been crazy slow to view or post for you all! I am guessing it's not just me.

Precious, go to cruise dot com and you will see that your TA's price is about 70% higher than it should be. I am seeing Balconys going for $879 per person. I think there was a glitch with the system a couple days ago.

Dianne, guess you will just have to hit the lottery!;)

Yvonne, when Dianne hits the lottery she will pay for your flight change!:D

So Glenn how much snow have you gotten so far?
So with all the talk about partitions opening between doors do you think Glenn that the partition opens between us?
Paul is on call this weekend with his co-workers pushing snow since yesterday noon. He got a call this morning to go fix a truck that is down with a broken hose on the blade. Roads are pretty slick around here with another 4 or 5 inches of new snow.

What do you think? Did you miss us? I'm so sorry I haven't posted more frequently, but I've been so busy with work and with the other group cruise. But you know what -- we absolutely wouldn't miss this cruise for a million dollars. Put us on the list and I'm working out which cabin we want with Johna. I'd like to be on the same floor as the "cove people." That sounds scary -- "cove people." Dave says its a "GO." Miss you all so much and can't wait 'til we're sippin' drinks on the high seas.

Ya know, if I thought I could talk Bud into joing the Cove Cult I would, but I know my husband of 33 years and he says he wants his nice, dark inside room. In all actuality, I like those rooms too. Nice and peaceful sleep rocked through the night by the slight movements of the sea (sigh).

What deck are the Coves on anyway? Maybe I can find a room across the hall from one of you guys!

And what about dining? Anytime dining or assigned?

Hi ML - It sure sounds like you have been busy cleaning and organizing this weekend. Good for you. I too, like the dark inside cabins. They have their own greatness to them. The coves are on the 2nd floor or main deck. I think several of us have posted our cabin #'s if you want to try and get across the hall. But remember, what you hear has to stay in your cabin and if you have sensitive ears you may want to include earplugs in your packing list. :D However, we do have a cabin for 3 booked in case Austin goes with us. Hmmmm, wonder how that will work out?

Yes we did pick that, but I think as we get closer we should figure out who wants early and who wants late and try and get those couples at the same table. I know Alan had said if we all picked anytime, it would probably be very difficult to get a table for all of us at one sitting. Just a thought. I guess anytime also gives us the flexibility to switch around and eat with different people at different times too. It's nice to have so much time to iron it all out.

I am sitting here thinking about cove people and earplugs. Now that is a sentence I never thought I would type.

Hope Don is doing ok. We all need to stay healthy and safe. No chest pains, falls on the ice or sleeping at the wheel.

It is snowing here and has been since yesterday. Did I tell you all I am sick of the snow? Oh in case I didn't I AM SICK OF THE SNOW!
It is bad when I lost count on how much we have now on the ground.

We are going to go eat pizza at a favorite place of ours called "Big Freds". Best pizza I have tasted.

Which reminds me of something that happen on our first cruise with DD and hubby and all his swat team. Oh that was a cruise. Anyway one guy named Bob, we called him "What about Bob", went to the pizza station and asked for a whole pizza. The pizza guy told him he can't give him a whole pizza, so he asked him how many pieces in one pizza and he told him 10. Now you know where this is going right? lol He told him to give him 10 pieces. He got his 10 pieces. I tell you, that swat team could eat. :)

First of all Don seems to be fine we have no idea what caused him to feel so bad. He was getting his hair cut when he felt dizzy, nauseated, and sweaty.
He took a break from getting his hair cut stepped outside then had his barber finish. He actually drove home walked in the door and told me what happened. I quickly gave him a aspirin and took his blood pressure. All of a sudden he said take me to the hospital my left arm is feeling funny. I went back and forth about just calling 911 but he said no way.

Once we arrived they wisked him away for a quick EKG that must have been fine because they then said we want to perform more test. They then did a CAT Scan and a chest scan while shooting iodine through his vains. Of course all of this took hours. The doctor said his heart seems fine no blockages. He now wants him to have a MRI done on Monday. Today he feels fine so we have no idea what caused all of this. He has never had this happend before. I was just glad we now know his heart is in good condition and all his blood work was good too. Needless to say we are feeling very grateful today and blessed.

Back to the fun stuff CRUISING Betty you had me laughing with that pizza story. I can't even imagine what its like living with all that snow. You and Paul are some tough people that's all I can say I'd be freaking out with that much cold weather. Oh by the way I bring my ear plugs no matter what on a cruise just in case. On the Splendor are you and Glenn next door to each other? I thought you were on different decks one above the other. Either way I am sure your balcony divider doors open you just need to tell you room steward I believe.

YAHOO DEBBIE AND DAVE ARE BACK. We had the best time on our private sail with you guys and Carol & Rick.

We also booked the anytime dining one thing I can't stand is having to rush to dinner when you are sitting outside watching the sunset.

Dianne the remark Glenn made about us having to change our flight was because we already paid for our flights on AA airlines to Miami this year. So we can not change our minds and go on the Splendor instead. I did call AA the penalty is $300 for both of us to change our flight.

Ok here I sit while the Super Bowl is on what type of a football fan am I?

Looks like their web-site is STILL messed up! Isn't the Dream and the Magic the only ships that you can book that far out now, though?

Yvonne - we chose anytime dining for the same reason - we like to eat when we're ready and not have to rush around. I think a bunch of us could sit together with anytime but we might have to wait a bit - I'm sure there would be a place closeby for a glass of wine or a cocktail while we wait! :D

We didn't win Powerball :( - someone in North Carolina stole it from us. Otherwise, I would've made sure your ticket was changed, Yvonne! You will really enjoy that itinerary that you're on, though!

Did my Big Brother buds see that Jordan and Jeff are going to be on the Amazing Race? Looking forward to that next Sunday!

Beth - I checked out your rooms and the locations, and I am not sure if we will shoot for a room across the hall from you guys or stick with the Riviera deck. My concern is that you are below the restaurant (slightly)...do you think this will be a problem with noise in your cabin?

Yvonne - I may not be as bad off as Betty, but like you - I am so ready for spring and summer and warm weather! Gray days and Florida just don't mix. We are very used to our sunshine!

Dianne - I think I like the idea of anytime dining. Bud and I had a table for two on the Freedom, and we absolutely loved it - but it would also be fun to have dinner with a few of my peeps too! I know that you have to pre-pay your tips but that is okay...one less thing for me to worry about after I get on-board!

Oh - I meant to post this but forgot (no old age jokes, okay?)

I got up early this morning at 4:10 am to catch the last night launch of the shuttle...absolutely awe-inspiring! The sky gradually gets bright, then boom! it is like daylight almost. Brilliant reds, deep golds, rosy pinks all entangled in the clouds as the shuttle passes through. Also, because it is night, you can clearly see the booster rockets as the fall off and gradually come back to earth.

It was definitely worth getting up for! Several of my neighbors were out too and everyone was cheering. We must have made quite a picture as most of us had on pj's, jackets, shoes and socks! It was cold and it was early - but I am very glad I got up to see it!

How awesome is that, Marylou!! Kevin will be so jealous - he's sooooo into all things that fly! We have attempted to plan vacations in Florida around launches, but soon realized that's impossible since they never seem to be able to go off when they planned.

Good game last night - sorry to say we were rooting for the underdog Saints, though. We figured Peyton had already won one (however, would love to see him back on Sat. Night Live) and we though it would be great for New Orleans to win one.

We're supposed to get 3 or 4" of snow today, but it's so light it's going to take a while to accumulate! I'm sooooooooo ready for spring!!

Island Girl was such an awesome excursion, I could easily do it again. Maybe we could arrange to visit some of the St. John snorkel sites and picnic on their beaches -- though I did really like Honeymoon Beach last time. It was very special that we had it all to ourselves. The only problem is how do we keep Yvonne (the "FISH") out of the water? I'm sure your friends Mike and Irene would love it! We may need another sailing vessel.

Happy Tuesday everyone.

Keith is doing fine other than he is sick at the moment. We are about 100% certain they will total his car. I went to the lot today to get some stuff out of it and the guy told me it's a goner. They just don't fix them anymore unless it's a new car.

Austin is fixin (yes that is a word...in Texan) to get his braces off and he is excited. He lost a front tooth in an accident and it was wired to his braces. As soon as his braces come off the oral surgeon will work on a long term temporary placement of the tooth until he has stopped growing. Then, he will get an implant. This kid has cost us a fortune, but he's the baby...gotta love him. :)

Marylou - I don't think there will be too much of a problem being under the kitchen. I have read reviews and others didn't seem to mind. Glenn can't be the cove captain, he hasn't even booked yet. Sorry Glenn!

Debbie - Congrats on booking a cove and ON BEING SMOKE FREE!! Thanks for updating the list. I have updated my master list as well. YAY!!!

Glenn and Betty - Y'all stay warm. This has been the craziest winter. Then that damn groundhog had to see his shadow. Grrrrrrr

Betty - since that stupid groundhog came out and predicted 6 more weeks of winter, I vote we go and find him...and make a groundhog pie!

Dianne - well, only one more day till my Sensation cruise...and they are calling for freeze warnings in the morning! Oh well, I may be bundled up a bit when I leave Florida, but I am looking forward to some warmer weather in the Bahamas. After all, isn't the saying true? "It's Always Better In The Bahamas!" I mean, they can't say it if it wasn't true, right?

Beth - fixin' is a very proper word here in the South! And yes, I spent way too much on my baby too. He was the only one to get braces, and they were not cheap. he also was in ROTC and in Drama in high school...both clubs which traveled and went to conferences and stuff...and both with uniforms or costumes and other things that seemed to always cost me money. *Marylou* - I'd be happy and honored to be the "party girl." It'll be awhile before I start taking names and setting it up. We also need a place to precruise meet and greet. We'll probably stay near the port a night or two before the cruise. I think we can rent a car in Orlando and drop it off at Port Canaveral or one of the hotels. Have you done this before? Have a fantastic cruise!

Early Saver Rates came out this morning! I switched my cabin to a porthole cabin on Deck 2 (cabin 2220). It saves $400 which is a lot of tropical drinks and an Island Girl daysail. I couldn't resist the savings.

By the way, what ship was that balcony on? I am booking it as soon as you let me know!:D

Glenn - just an FYI, but that pic that Debbie posted was a suite on the Dream - better get booking!!! :D We'll definitely want to party there on a cabin crawl!!

Marylou - just checked your Friday Nassau weather and it says 74 for the high. Not bad!! Warm, but not hot and sweaty warm!! If I knew for sure that you were going to come to Key West for the weekend of 8/21, I'd ask you to pick up some Mango Rum at the Tortuga Rum Store for me - I'm out! :( You should pick up a bottle for yourself, though, it's sooooo yummy - straight out of the bottle! :)

I know you like the portholes, so glad you were able to snag it at that great price!

Marylou and I talked (I think over on the Freedom thread) about a couple possibilties for a pre-cruise party. Fishlips and Grills Seafood Deck &Tiki Bar - hope to send Marylou on a reconnaissance mission in the next 19 months to check it out for us! :D

Debbie - I have changed your cabin # on my main roster. The next time I post it it will have the correct info.

Dianne - I like Fish Lips. Really just because I think the name is cute. It really sux that we have to wait so long for this cruise. Can you imagine how many pages we will have by then?

Debbie - what category room is this?

Hello ML. It's a Cat 4A. It's the same as an inside, but you get the portholes. Although I don't see that 2221 is still available. You may need to call and see if there are any others.

Personally we don't like them because they are way to close to the front of the ship for us. We had one of those cabins 1 time and 1 time only. It was the only time we were ever sick on a cruise. When I say sick, I mean really sick. We had rough seas and you really feel it that low and that far forward. Just my .02 though. I don't want anyone to be sick. I would hate to have to share my cabin.

Never had a problem with a Port Hole cabin (had 2 of them). I believe they are larger than an inside cabin and equal to an oceanview cabin (220 sf). It's not really a 4A, on Carnival's website they call it a "PT". It was $549 without tax and $615 with tax. I'm gonna use my future cruise voucher and my stockholder benefit. My TA says Carnival reps will once again be selling vouchers onboard the Dream when we sail. Yeah!

And yes, cabin 2221 is available on Deck 2. Cabins 1205, 1206, 1207, and 1208 are also available on Deck 1. There are only a total of 6 of these cabins available on the Dream.

Good to know that the Dream will be selling the future cruise certificates again...we are definitely going to take advantage of that when we get on board the Dream.

I talked to Bud about the PT cabins, and he doesn't want to be so far in the front of the ship. He is really starting to bug me a bit. He says to me: book what you want. What he really means is book the kind of cabin HE like to stay in. Oh well, I guess it really doesn't matter to me. I do like the inside cabins, and I do like the Riviera Deck...so I guess we will stick with what we know and like.....but in my heart...I just think a Cove cabin would be way too cool to stay in! Maybe when he visits one of those rooms, he will change his mind for the next time....

I'll be booking before the month is out, so I am excited about that!

Maybe it's too early, Yvonne? Considering they still show that Fun Saver rate at over $1700 for an inside & $2,000 for a balcony, I think that web-site is not working correctly yet! It also looks like right now, they are only booking the Dream and Liberty for Sept. 2011.

Here I am sitting at work and bored out of my mind. We just changed shifts a couple of weeks ago and I landed myself on the day shift. I don't think I will handle this very well because everyone I talk to on the phone or in my grey bar hotel is sober. These people could never cruise with our group we could each have had several drinks of the day down by now.

For those of you burried in the cold snow and even if you are sitting at work or even just sitting at home, close you eyes and think back to our cruise. Come on work with me here close your eyes and imagine yourself getting off the ship at your favorite port. Ok open your eyes and read on. Now close your eyes again and remember that special beach you visited and imagine you are sitting there right now. Can you start to feel that warm breeze flowing threw your hair and now over your shoulders. Now close your eyes again and really concentrate this time and imagine you just had a sip of a cool drink as you slipped off your shoes. Can you feel that warm sand between your toes. If you concentrate hard you can feel the hot sand as your walk slowly towards the blue crystal clear water that is kissing the sand next to your feet. Are you starting to relax..............

Now..... Wake up and get back to work

Bye for now, Blair

Hello Yvonne, nice beach. Those were some shinny rocks. Gina and I are sailing March 19th out of Los Angeles on the three day booze cruise. We are going in style this time by trying a suite(GS). We wanted to see if it would really be worth the extra money for our cruise on the Dream. We have really enjoyed the wrap balcony, so it will be fun to see the difference. Is Don still doing ok, I hope so it can be a unsettling feeling when you think it is something major like your heart. Have a great day everyone, Blair

Blair you should read this review that Glenn posted on his Splendor cruise the guy talks about how he booked a suite and what he thought about it.
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1142359 (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1142359)

On our cruise in August I went back and forth booking a suite then back to a regular balcony cabin and in the end we booked a AFT. It was really hard giving up that tub with glass sliding doors and the double sinks. Not that we have ever had a suite I just wanted to try it out.

Wow your cruise is getting here fast March 19th you are so lucky.

Nice going Blair! I'm sitting at my desk...hearing the waves of the ocean in my head...and people are walking by and asking me why I am sitting at my desk with my shoes off and wiggling my toes!

As someone who just spent a weekend cruise in a suite - I have to say the extra room is very nice. The closet space was awesome, and it was nice to have the extra room in the bathroom as well. The bathtub was a nice bonus...no clinging shower cutrain or water all over the floor!

Unfortunatly, Bud doesn't see the merit of a suite or a balcony...unless we are cruising Alaska...and he tells me if we book our regular rooms, we can go on one or two extra weekenders in addition to our 7-dayer each year. Hard to argue with that if it gets me on a ship more than once every year or so!

Although, I am not booked yet (and won't be for awhile), I will still bother ya'll with my Chattiness everyone once in awhile.

Blair - thanks so much for the moment away. I stepped off the ship in St.Thomas and went to Honeymoon Beach (where we were the only peeps there-Rick and I, Yvonne and Don and Debbie and Dave). Wow!!! It felt great than BAM, I had to wake up. Bummer!!!
Sorry you have to deal with sober people!!! but SOOOO glad you are back with us!!!

Dianne - You didn't try the Kiss on the Lips???? There was one day at the pool when Marylou was sharing with everyone. I can't remember what was in it but it was GREAT!!!

Precious - So glad to have you back. I remember meeting you and Mario for the first time up on deck as we were still in Ft.Lauderdale. It was so great to run into ya'll many times on the ship and I too loved that feeling of having someone say "hey". It's so crazy that on a ship of 3000+ people and you continue to run into your "peeps" all the time. We were all MEANT TO BE!!!

Dianne - how did you miss the taste-taste everyone had out by the pool? Thinking about that made me laugh, as just a few days later, many of us were sharing a jug of booze on our way back from the Baths!! Nobody can ever say we are a seflish bunch :D

Recipe:

1 - 1 1/2 oz peach schnapps (http://www.drinksmixer.com/desc313.html)
4 - 6 oz frozen mango mix (http://www.drinksmixer.com/desc2074.html)
1 tbsp grenadine syrup (http://www.drinksmixer.com/desc102.html)

Smile on my face!

Actually, I think you need to drink an awful lot of these to get toasted, but they are yummy and after a couple of drinks (or more), I feel pleasantly relaxed...:D which is better than getting blotto on a ship. Back in my younger days - maybe....but now, I just go for the glow!!

So I wonder if that's how that FLU VIRUS started?!?! Sorry, couldn't resist!! I must've missed the tasting day - we spent a lot of time on our balcony that cruise and I know I missed out on a lot of fun times. Next cruise, I will be there with ya' all (thought I'd throw in that southern term for you belles!)

I think what's stopped me from trying the Kiss is the peach schnaaps - not a schnaaps fan, but you probably can't taste it, right? I LOVE mango!

Carol and Precious - even if you're not "official" you are part of the Part Deux, so you'd better be frequent guests! :)

Blaire- Thanks for the relaxing mind set. Now I am stuck on the song Toes in the Sand. You know the one...

I got my toes in the water, a$$ in the sand
Not a worry in the world, cold beer in my hand
Life is good today, Life is good today.

THEN, I had to snap out of it. Here is a link to the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21OfqlL_hyE

Dianne -So you were stuck on your balcony? Hmmmmm I'm not sure I want a cabin next to you.

Gotta go. It's an AWESOME day here today. Not a cloud in the sky, got some yard work done, Austin is riding his MX bike, the house windows are open, the fresh air is coming in. Ahhhhh, this is wonderful...so I'm outta here. No reason to sit inside. Bye peeps. :D:D

Oh did I mention it is AWESOME weather here today. We would love to have visitors if anyone wants to get away. :)

I had a great lunch with Sue on Tuesday, and she is waiting to book until a few things get worked out. She may or may not have a job by end of summer, and needs to see how things will turn out before she committs. She works for an attorney, and even tho she is a paralegal, they really don't treat her the best. Her boss is bidding for a judgeship that is open, and if she gets it, she said she would take Sue with her...but you never know how stuff like that works out. Hopefully, it will all work out for the best...I'll keep everyone posted.

Sue also mentioned that the itinerary didn't really appeal that much to her as we were just in St Thomas and Nassau. I told her that by the time we sail, ebough time would have passed so that is not a problem. I told her that in all of the times she has gone, she has never just walked around and soaked in the ambiance of St Thomas - so she can think about that. I told her that the Dream is big, and has lots to experience, and that we will need the sea days to get it all done. And finally, I told her that all of us would be there...and that really trumps all other reasons!

So, she will have to wait and see what happens with her job, but I think I have her convinced to join us.

Amen, Geri! Well put by both of you!! You could also tell Sue that she is welcome to join Kevin and I on a trip over to St. John. We're definitely going back there this time - will probably take the ferry again because it was fun and a good bargain!! Has Sue been to St. Maarten? So I'm like hmmmm..... maybe there are more boats that take you there now and I found a few.... AND I also found one that you can charter with a minimum of 20 people (and another boat that has a 25 min) We could do the BVI Charter Part Deux!! If you guys aren't familiar with Jost, you really need to check it out - it would be a blast with all you peeps!!

Hi all - it's Gina. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am sitting here with Blair, for the first time, reading through the last few postings and I must say, MY HUSBAND SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WOMAN WITH THE KIND OF POSTINGS HE DOES. Won't my daddy be proud!

ok, I am back and we just finish our second bottle of winw, so forgive my wife she is a little bit.......

Excuse me please - but not only should he have been a girl, but he can't even spell~!

Tjhe bottom line is we can't wait to cruise again with all our friends, now lets open another bottle. Blair

Blaid and Gina - Drinking and Posting...a whole new way to communicate with your peeps...I love it! Don't worry about behaving...that is just some bunk we tell our kids! We are adults, and can now do what we want. :)

Dianne - the day sail to Jost sounds fantastic. Bud and I are looking into going to St John's ourselves. We were there many years ago for a snorkel trip, and it was just fantastic. Oh my gosh, are we taking excursions already? This is gonna be a fun time waiting till we sail...

Geri - did you send me the address yet for your ship model? I thought you said to mail it to your work, but I haven't seen anything yet. You can always send me a private message on FB. Just let me know and I'll send you your model, okay?

Karen - good idea on booking the Dream while on the Legend. I would verify that you can do that and see what sort of perk or break you get. OBC perhaps? Reduced deposit? We booked our upcoming cruise in September while we were sailing an another Royal Caribbean ship last year in May. We only paid $100 pp deposit, instead of the normal $250...and we get $100.00 OBC. Maybe you can snag a deal like this one!

Betty - I read in the news that during a particularly long winter, areas up north actually shipped snow down south so that it would not cause flooding when it melted. Now that sounds kind of crazy, but if I think about it - I guess all of the snow melting could really make quite a bit of a mess!

I am making some calls tonight to get my booking going. Bud said he doesn't really care what room I book, but I think I am going to stick with our inside cabin and save the money for several reasons:

- $300 to $360 difference between the 3 rooms will pay for that day sail to St Johns
- or I can book another weekender this summer before I cruise in September
- or I can spend the extra money in the casino

I think you get my drift....The inside cabins are big enough for the two of us, and we besides we love the dark rooms. Of course, I'll be by to visit some of my Cove Friends just to see for myself how the rooms are. Maybe next time Bud will say the heck with the savings...just go for it Lou!

Yvonne and Beth - Yaaayyy - We have a LIST!! 14 more people and we have a CHARTER BOAT!!

From Caribbean magazine's article: "Ultimate Caribbean Beach Bars"

JOST VAN DYKE
Foxy's
You haven't earned your Caribbean bar-crawler cred until Foxy Callwood has improvised a ditty about you. Since peddling a few drinks on a BVI beach back in 1968, the self-proclaimed "laziest man on earth" and his groggery have become the best-known Caribbean entities other than the sea itself. Foxy's big bashes - Old Year's Eve, for one - necessitated a major dining expansion out back (the food's excellent), but facing Great Harbour you'll still find the classic T-shirt-trimmed beach bar and little stage where the ever-smiling Sly Fox performs each afternoon.
284-495-9258; foxysbar.com

JOST VAN DYKE
One Love Beach Bar
Just down White Bay Beach from the light and airy Soggy Dollar, Seddy's One Love looks like a nautical-minded beaver built his dam on the sand and decorated it with every bit of flotsam and jetsam he could find. Don't let the dark entrance dissuade you, though, because inside awaits a cool den of indrinkquity, lorded over by Seddy Callwood (Foxy's son) and his wife, Raquel. Seddy stakes his rep on serving up Jost Van Dyke's coldest beer, but the real treat comes when he deigns to show off his tricks. When he's on, Seddy is an accomplished magician; when he's off, you've still got that frosty beer or beautiful beach walk down to Soggy or to Ivan's Stress Free.
284-495-9829

JOST VAN DYKE
Soggy Dollar
One of the world's most serene experiences is swinging in the hammock strung between palms at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke's White Bay. Dinghy ashore or swim (that's how your simoleons get soaked and how the joint got its name), then belly up to the little L of a bar. This is the birthplace of one of the greatest drink names in cocktaildom, so it's traditional to prescribe yourself an original Painkiller. There are comfy chairs under a ceiling fan and spectacular sand and water at your feet, but on a quiet day, there's no better place than the hammock to feel no pain.

HI GINA :) GIRLFRIEND WE ARE GONNA PARTY ON THE DREAM

Marylou I'm glad to hear you survived your latest dentist appointment. It really sounded very surreal. I love your rationalism in deciding which cabin to choose for the Dream. For Don and I this is our once a year very, very special vacation. So yes its a bit of a splurge to have a balcony or in this case a COVE cabin we just feel it makes the whole experience more special for us. Don absolutely loves having a balcony and as we all know we all work very hard every single day so we deserve to spoil ourselves in whatever way we see fit. Whether its taking a few additional cruises, or doing a little gambling we all should do what makes us happy as I'm sure we will. Yeah I'm so happy you are booking I love that feeling the more the merrier.

Good Monday Morning!! We ended up with an inch of snow at the most, but a lot of ice in north KC. Kevin just called and he said on his trip up to the airport, there are several cars off the road. Those are the idiots who drive way too fast for the conditions, though - I don't feel bad for them. Kevin is heading to Jacksonville today, then after a job there, he drives to Ft. Walton Beach, then to Mobile - flying out of there Friday. A lot of driving, but that's where I'd rather be right now!!

Marylou - So glad you and Bud will join us. Yes, it will be pricey, but how many times do you get the chance to go over to Jost on your own private charter!?!?!? :D I read on a post of Beth's on Facebook that Keith was going to contact them about pricing and something else that I can't remember. I just want to make sure that we would not be "penalized" in case the ship was diverted.

Geri & Mike
Blair & Gina
Mary Jo & Vince

You got it, Karen - I have the "yet to be determined" roommate added to the list!! As far as pricing goes, it's all an estimate right now, but here's what the web-site shows per person:

$125 + $25 customs fee + 20% gratuity. That would include juice, fruit & muffins on the way there and an open bar and cookies  after Jost. We would be responsible for our lunch and drinks once we are on Jost. Like I mentioned, I think Keith is contacting him with some questions that he and Beth have, so after I hear what they find out, I can contact them with any other questions we may have, like the cancellation policy!

and you're welcome for the Future Cruise Cert. info! :)
