Have you tried posting on the Roll-Call forum? That's the best place to find other CC members who will be on your cruise.

btw---let me say the Prinsendam is one fine ship, and the area of the world where you will be cruising is one of my favorites.
Have a great time.

just cheked us in one minute ago.

Have a small problem that the stateroom is not the one that is on our Order confirmation...

We also booked the excursions. Do you think something will be organised in the ports that are "empty" for the moement?

Greetings from rainy Belgium (me) and Germany (my friend)

Anne - Welcome to the CC! This forum is great for information about your ship and the cruise line. However, you'll find those sailing with you on the Roll Call area. This link (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1027463) will take you to the one for your sailing.

As to your cabin, is the one on your check-in form nicer (more expensive category) than the one you booked? When booking, did you say you'd be willing to accept an upgrade? If this is the case, congratulations on the upgrade.

On the order form from the travel agency, we booked (and paid) for an AA (106) room, on our luggage tag is written A 306, so the opposite of an upgrade.
I contacted our travel agency but according to them, the info they provide is correct ... although we only have an order form and no confirmation at all...
Sorry, this is my 1st cruise and I am totaly ignorant of what should be provide by whom (travel agency or cruise line).
I must say for the more than 14.000 euro we paid, I had expected a bit more service from theagency. Good there is this community, or we did not even know the port of departure had changed!
Thanks to all for these updates

I would definitely be on the phone with Holland America even if it means a long-distance call. I looked at the deck plan and you are right. It is not an upgrade at all but a downgrade to go from a verandah to an Ocean View.
You would need to provide your invoice showing the AA106 as the room you booked. Make sure to tell HAL that you contacted your travel agent and they refuse to help. You may have to fax them a copy of the invoice.
Good luck.

You are right. 306 is an F Category. All the more reason the OP needs to get in touch with HAL.

From the price you paid I assume you are on the 32 day cruise. I see AA106 is available on the first 18 days. There seems to have been a terrible mistake by someone. You must contact Holland America. See you on board Elizabeth

for the phone number.
We booked already in May 2008 and paid at that time 9.000 euro, rest we are asked to pay now (another 5.500 euro, without excursion), which I refuse to pay before we do not get any paper with confimation of room.
Problem is we booked at a agency in Belgium, who booked it then with a bigger travel agency, but we are not getting their order or confirmation papers either.
I will for contact HAL in Holland tomorrow. I feel like we are ripped off...not a good start of our first cruise...

we booked the 21 day cruise from England to Amsterdam. I have seen that the prices on online sites and in brochures are much lower, but we booked this cruise already in 2008... I like to believe that it was more expensive at that time, dont want to think the agency was ripping us off..

Bennaken........When you call Holland America make sure that they received your deposit of 9.000 euros and I hope you paid it with a credit card. I do not wish to alarm you, but what sometimes happens in North America is that the Travel Agency does not forward the money to the cruise line. These are rare incidents, but they do happen. Again, maybe credit card rules are different in Europe, but if it is paid by credit card, the Company used will accept a dispute from the credit card holder. This way a person may recover the funds if it was not forwarded to the Cruise line. Good luck and let us know................................
