We are looking for an attraction suggestion in LeHavre (not interested in trying to cram Paris into one day). Museum Malraux looks like a possibility. Any other ideas close to port? thanks!

Don't know the museum, but Le Havre is not an attractive town, it's a port, with little for the tourist
If you decide against Paris (wise move), consider the approx 12 mile drive (bus or easier by taxi) to the fishing port of Honfleur - very pretty, good bars, restaurants etc. or further along to the twin-towns of Trouville/Deauville for much of the same.
Or the train to Rouen.
Many Brits head by hire car or taxi/van or private tour company to the D-Day beaches, starting with Pegasus Bridge, between Caen & Ouistreham. But the US beaches start at Arromanches - some Americans will do it, others might baulk at the distance, but its much closer than Paris.
Dial these places into Google & Googlemaps & see what you think.
Also worth switching/repeating your question on the Western Europe forum, this one's for France's Mediterranean ports

I agree with getting over to Honfleur. A very pretty town that's walkable, no need for a tour.
As for which board to post--tell that to the moderators! (I.e., it's not clear at all, there is no indication on the "British Isles, Northern/Western Europe" board that northern France, Spain and Portugal are included. Silly really, the whole structure.
