Please tell me the Yum Yum Man is still around? I think I am looking most forward to seeing him on my upcoming Eurodam cruise.

I don't recall a HAL cruise when there wasn't a Yum Yum man. If there wasn't a Yum Yum man with his Ding Dong how would you know when the dining room is open?:)

Thank you! Any recent Eurodam cruisers see or hear the Yum Yum man?
When no one answered this post earlier, I did a search and I got scared when I read the Yum Yum man might be eliminated.

For those of you that may not know who he is, here is a photo of the Yum Yum Man giving out mints on my Oosterdam cruise. :D

Our Yum Yum man didn't have his Ding Dong on the Westerdam last April...

He was on our December cruise on the Eurodam. We always looked forward to him, however now with so much open seating, we missed him almost every night.

When we were on Westerdam last month, the Yum-Yum Man's cart was there outside the dining room, but he was often absent. In fact, several times I saw passengers helping themselves to the mints and ginger because nobody was manning the cart.

As long as they have the mints on our cruise, I'll be happy, but will miss the smiling face of Mr. Yum Yum. :) They were out of mints for our entire 10 night Noordam cruise. :( I like the ginger, also.

When so many of the ships have been on Red Alert is why you haven't seen the Yum Yum Man serving the mints. Just like no salt and pepper shakers!!!!

Huh? That doesn't even make sense. The cart was there, and when the Yum-Yum Man wasn't there, people were helping themselves! That's the problem. Having the Yum-Yum Man there alleviates the problem with people helping themselves because he serves them, just like a buffet during a Red Alert. Why would having him there add to the problem? I don't understand your rationale.

Saw him on our Christmas/New Years cruise through the Panama Canal on the Amsterdam. Only been on the Amsterdam twice but he was (or they were) there both times.

So we know the Yum Yum Man is still handing out his after dinner treats and making us all smile.... but, seriously folks, he didn't ring the chimes on the Westerdam last year, and I really missed that wonderful old tradition. Has anyone else experienced the chimes lately?

They rang the chimes for the fixed seating on the Jan 30th Eurodam sailing - if you weren't near the upper level of the dining room at exactly the right time it would have been easy to miss them!

Thank you. We are accustomed to sitting in the Ocean Bar with a small libation (or two) while awaiting dinner. The Yum Yum Man would pass by, ringing his chimes, and all was right with the world. We missed him on our last cruise, and consequently, almost missed dinner too!

 There was no Red Alert on our cruise, and he was handing out everything else... just no mints. ;)
Always tip the Yum Yum man.

You know, it never occurred to me to tip the Yum Yum Man. How many do this? I certainly will remember on my next cruise.

The Yum Yum did ring the chimes to announce dinner in the MDR every evening on my October 09 Eurodam Cruise. He was there on entrance and exit from MDR. Really nice guy, a bit of a joker.
