....what's your favorite beach bar area to be dropped?

where is the best beach food?

best drinks?

best "deal" on lounges and umbrellas?

I can't compare to other beaches in St Maarten, but we really enjoyed ourselves at Kakao Beach. The beach was nice, there were umbrellas and chairs (for rent I believe), but we opted to sit at one of the covered areas with a table (we had drinks and lunch so this was not a problem). The ocean was crystal clear and pretty calm and made for good swimming.

It's quite a taxi ride from the dock to Orient Beach, but it is well worth the while. My wife and I head directly there every time we go to St. Martin. Even if you are a bit on the shy side and don't won't to go to the nude beach you can still enjoy the beautiful sand and calm waters on the "left" side. There are several cafes and bars along the beach and you can even parasail. Orient Beach is simply a great way to spend a day.

Yes, we loved Kakao Beach and Restaurant, too. The food is delicious and the tables are practically out on the sand in little tiki-type huts. Here's a link to a couple of pics:
