Snorkeling

I know some people said they bought their own snorkeling gear and brought it with them rather than rent which they said was expensive. Do you really need the fins or is a mask and snorkel sufficient?

We found that a snorkle & mask worked great!!! Fins are nice but not necessary. They will give you at vest at no charge. You must wear the vest while snorkling. Have fun looking for Mickey!!!

We always bring our snorkeling equipment. Fins help me move in the direction I want to go, especially if it's far out.

Mickey is gone, due to the hurricane damage.

Castaway Cay is spectacular, but Hannama Bay, HI still is tops for us!

Lisa, who or where exactly do they give you free vests on Castaway Cay specifically?

I much prefer snorkeling with fins. My first experience was in the Bahamas it is much more effortless. We will also take all our own equipment with us on our March Cruise. There is just something about sharing something that goes in your mouth with hundreds of other people that I find undesirable. They sanatize things but still.
