January 2005 is just around the corner. Any word on when HAL will be posting their 2006 cruise calendar, at least for the 1st quarter?

Spoke w/HAL a couple of days ago and was told that the schedule was done and being "plugged in". Any day now:D. BTW I was also told that there are no scheduled 14 day Veendam cruises out of Tampa this Winter/Spring.:(

Boy am I glad that we are doing the 14 day Veendam out of Tampa in 2005.
Why is HAL giving up so many lovely cruises? We were on the last Orinoco cruise in 2003. Just this past Oct/Nov we did the Pan American cruise and it is no longer being offered.

Waiting.........Waiting.........Patience is not my strong suit.:D We have booked a b2b on Celebrity's Constellation for 2006, but since the reviews for HAL have been getting much better lately, would certainly like to see what "longer" Carib cruises will be offered in 2006.

They really should take advantage of 14 day Tampa offering. We will be doing it on Jan 15 and had many friends who wanted to join us but it sold out VERY early -- especially the S and A,B cats. It is so nice not to have the airline flights for all Mariners living in this area.

With the way HAL is dropping certain cruises, it looks like the only long cruises that HAL will be offering is Europe, South America, a couple Trans-Atlantic, maybe Australia and Asia(?).
21 day - Pan American - gone.
14 day out of Tampa - gone.
16 day Orinoco - gone.

I have a photo-copy of the Holland America Line 2006 Sailing Schedule at a Glance.
My travel agent gave it to me. ( I also work at AAA).
You might want to check with your travel agent. They should also have a copy.
If you want to know about a certain ship, let me know.

Would appreciate knowing the following:
1. Any 14 day Veendam Jan-March?
2. Is Volendam sticking with the same type of 10 day cruises as 2005?
Thanks.

Hi Pam
On an earlier thread it was stated that the new Noordam would be going to Alaska out of Vancouver after it had finished its NYC 10/11 day cruises to the Caribbean.
Will it be going to Alaska or going back to Europe for summer 2006?
Thanks Ken

Pam,
Is the Veendam doing the 34 or so day Panama Canal and Amazon River Cruise in September, 2006 leaving from Vancouver.
We are very interested in doing this and are wondering if they will be repeating it after 2005.

Someone asked and I shall try to answer.
2003 - the 16 day Orinoco cruise - completely sold out.
2004 - 21 day Pan American - only a handful cabins not sold - lower categories.
2005 - Nov 26th Veendam cruise - all the top categories are already are already sold out - these are the categories listed on HAL's website that are sold old: PS, S, A, B, BB, HH, K, MM, N, NN, and I is now a quarantee. And it is still 10 months before that cruise.

I got my hands on the 2006 schedule, subject to change, of course. There is a 17 day Vancouver to FLL transcanal trip beginning 9/27 on the Volendam. There's also a 19 day Vancouver to Tampa transcanal beginning 9/24 on the Ryndam.
There's also a 21 day transcanal from Seattle to FLL beginning 9/24 on the Westerdam.
There's also an Orinoco Caribbean, 16 days from FLL to FLL beginning 12/6 on the Prinsendam.
Finally, there appears to be some very cool Egypt and Africa Explorer cruises that I haven't seen before.
Let me know if you want some more specifics.

Hi there I was very interested to hear you might have an idea of cruises in 2006. I heard a rumour of one on the Statendam, sometime in the Spring -from NZ,thru Sydney,HK,Osaka and back to Vancouver. We would be very interested in any specifics you might have about this one as we live near Vancouver and would love to see the Orient. If you have any idea of times or itinerary we would love to know them.
Many thanks.

Don't have specific cruise itineraries, only the to/from and dates and ships.
There is an 18 day transpacific cruise from OSA to VAN from 5/1 to 5/19. I'm assuming OSA means Osaka. This is on the Statendam.
The only other Transpacific cruises seem to be January, 14 day Australia/NZ, from Sydney to Auckland on Statendam; 16 day Australia/SE Asia Sydney to Hong Kong in March; 14 day China/Japan from Hong Kong to Osaka in April also on Statendam.

My sister has just returned from the South America Christmas cruise and she has the dates for the Prinsendam Amazon trip in April 2006. It leaves from New York around 23rd April and it is a 26 or 28 day cruise going up the Amazon and finishing in Fort Lauderdale.
Apparently the Veendam will be doing the 34 day cruise from Vancouver to Tampa via the Panama Canal and the Amazon in September, 2006 which is great as that is a trip we want to do.

I have been given a copy of the proposed 2006 itineraries for the whole year - January to December for each ship. My sister was given a copy whilst on the Amsterdam a week ago.
If you would like to find out about any ship just ask away.
The Amsterdam will be doing two great Transatlantic cruises. The first is a 17 day, leaving from Copenhagen and finishing in New York. Leaving Copenhagen on 22nd July and arriving in New York on 8th August. The next Transatlantic is a 38 day leaving from New York going to Rotterdam and returning to New York. The dates are 8th August until 13th September.
I also have the schedules for the new Noordam.

Kruzkeen,
Prinsendam is doing lots of interesting trips. First of all it is doing the Grand Circle Explorer from Ft Lauderdale back to Ft Lauderdale and New York. That is from 6th January until 23rd April.
Then it is doing the 28 day Explorer South America/Amazon which leaves from NYC/Ft. Lauderdale and returns to Ft. Lauderdale. The dates are 23rd April - 21st May.
Then it does a 34 day Explorer Transatlantic /Northcape leaving Ft Lauderdale/NYC and ends up in Lisbon - Amsterdam. The dates are 21st May until 24th June.
Then it does some quite extensive trips in Europe. All called Explorer ......
Then on 17th October it leaves Lisobon on the West Africa Explorer cruise and ends up in Capetown. Those dates are 17th October until 6th November. Then a 24 day Explore South America/Amazon leaving Cape Town on 8th November and arriving in Ft Lauderdale on 2nd December.
It goes into drydock for 4 days and then does a 16 day Caribbean Ft. Lauderdale to Ft. Lauderdale from 6th December until 22nd December.
The Maasdam is doing East Coast after a 21 day dry dock from 7th April until 28th April.
It commences with a 14 day cruise Canada/ New England from Ft. Lauderdale to Montreal on 28th April. Then it does 22 x 7 day Montreal to Boston v.v. cruises until the 14th October when it does a 14 day cruise from Montreal to Nor.
I think this covers it all.

jc,
I have no idea when this is all being released. My sister was only able to put a tentative booking in for the Amazon trip on the Prinsendam in April, 2006 whilst on board the Amsterdam. I don't think she paid a deposit and I know she hasn't a cabin as yet. At least we have some idea of what is happening in 2006 and we can plan. As you know, we always seem to book our holidays at least a year in advance which has its advantages as well as its disadvantages, mainly it takes so long to happen!!
I hope by the time we get on the Maasdam in July, the itineraries will be out and we can book the Veendam for our Panama/Amazon trip in September, 2006. The best thing is that the Veendam is going in for a 22 day dry dock in January 2006, so the ship will be sparkling after that.

Kruizekeen,
According to this schedule the Zuiderdam is doing the Caribbean in 2006. It is going to be there all year and will be doing 7 day cruises from Ft. Lauderdale to Ft. Lauderdale leaving on a Saturday.
Perhaps they have changed this since it was published but then what ship is doing the Caribbean if the Zuiderdam is in Alaska!!
Jennie
Jennie:
Exactly! I was surprized (or is it surprised in Australia) to read that the Zuiderdam would be doing Alaska out of Vancouver in 2006.
Thanks again for all your updates.

Ken,
Yes it is surprised. We do not use the "z". It is fun to see where the ships will be and I am wondering how accurate my schedule is, though the Cruise Consultant on board the Amsterdam is going by it.

robertmartha,
According to the itinerary I have, the Noordam will in the Mediterranean from 31st January - delivery date - until 22nd September when it will do a Transatlantic arriving in Ft Lauderdale on 9th October.
After that it will do 10 day trans canal cruises from Ft. Lauderdale to Ft. Lauderdale up to the end of the year.

Steve,
I believe you said that the Volendam would be in Hawaii next year for certain sailings along with the Zaandam. Could you please tell me which sailings, as the Volendam is now my favorite ship, and we are looking for a Hawaii sailing? Thanks.

Sage,
I hope you don't mind me butting in but according to the schedule I have the Volendam will be doing one sailing to Hawaii and that is an 18 day Seattle to Vancouver leaving on 22nd April, 2006
The Zaandam is doing 3 x 15/10 day Hawaii to Mexico from San-San commencing on 7th October and finishing on 21st December then it does a 10 day Hawaian holiday cruise from San-San commencing on 21st December and finishing on 15th January.
