I have been on the Century many times and now I have booked the Solstice and wonder how many people that have been on the Century would love to tell me all the good things about the Solstice. I am looking forward to a good cruise but sometimes change is hard to do. :)

Amazing thing that set S-Class ships apart from Century: Solarium, Aquaclass, Lawn Club, Passport bar, choice of specialty restaurants, Bistro on 5, wonderful design and variety of entertainment options throughout the ship. You won't look back!!

Century was the first Celebrity ship we were on and we loved it and have not looked back. However, the Solstice class of ships are incredible, we have been on both Solstice and Equinox and thought they were both fantastic. Librarylady19 listed some of the wonderful aspects of the S class, the glass blowing was also great. You will have a great time !!!

We have been on both ships ( four times on Century). While both are wonderful, I am in the minority in that I prefer the Century and M-Class ships.
For me the main draw of the Solstice was the art on board, some amazing installations, not something everyone would even notice. The whole ship is visually spectacular. I did not enjoy the larger size or the multiple dining options. It seemed to creat more of a tiered "class "structure. Many evening your dinner table in the MDR would miss so many guests as they tried all the options. We are "elite" members, always in at least a balcony, so this was not envy. The martini bar was so crammed you could not even sit before the 8:30 pm dinner seating.

That said, you cannot go wrong on either ship. I prefer the intamacy of the Century.:D

Thanks, traveling mom,

I agree. Since cruising is so much a matter of taste and preference, it seems problematic to be so emphatic about what one person would or should prefer. There really is no authoritative answer to which is better ... only a laying out of differences and choices to make.

I look forward to the Solstice class ... with some trepidation ... and find the m class my ideal home, with the Century class having great appeal in scale. It all depends what you are after in sailing. I am less inclined toward the hotel experience ... although I love the art on the ships and have a hundred pics as proof of it for each ship ... and more attracted to the quiet of a good balcony and a calm sea to slow my busy life down.

Luckily there are lots of choices.

I join you in your minority.
We've cruised on Century and the M class ships several times.
We were on the Equinox TA, and had a lovely S1 cabin, which is the nicest one we have had on any ship.
However, we felt that the Equinox was too large. We missed having a dedicated lounge for pre dinner dancing and drinks, rather than having this venue in the lobby, which, to us, was awkward, and crowded, being in the line of traffic to the dining room.
We will return to M class for future cruises.

We are excited to return to M-Class next month on the March 26 sailing of the Millennium. I only wish we had more sea days , but what could be bad.:D
