We are new to Regent and expect it to be far superior to cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean. I am wondering if any would fell we might be disappointed?

went on the liberty of seas last year; Basically.... there is no comparison..royal charges you for bottled water; drinks; and basically anything they can get their paw prints on your wallet... Luxury lines are included and allow you to relax and have a great time.

Frankly, it is an apples to oranges comparison. Not only because RCCL charges for everything extra, but due to the fact that the ships' size is so different it makes for a complete different experience. If you are looking for a lot of glitz, big splashy shows, or a party atmosphere you will be disappointed.

Based on what you have said it certainly doesn't sound like we will be disappointed.

Take a look at the "To Good to be true" thread
on this Regent site.
Think you will see lots of comments there answering your questions.
Oh by the way.
You will be totally surprised with how wonderful Regent Seven Seas is.
Starting with when you enter your cabin.

We haven't cruised that much so don't have a lot to compare. But in one port in Alaska, there was a typical big cruise line ship (not one of the new 5000 passenger ones, but a 3000 pass. one) docked next to us.
As we walked back to our ship, we were shocked to see the length of the line to get back on board the other ship. There was one group of about 10 all wearing very bright red jackets who had just joined the back of the line as we walked up the gangplank.
As we entered our cabin, took off our clothes, put on our robes and took our tray of appetizers and drinks that we had asked to have waiting for us, out on the balcony, we looked at the other ship, and that group in their red jackets was still standing on shore waiting to board.
At that moment, we knew we loved Regent.

My very first 'big' cruise was on the Raddisson Navigator, renamed now as Regent.
It was wonderful and cozy all at the same time.
Since then, I've been on the Regent Mariner and two Princess cuises as well as the Crystal Symphony. Regent and Crystal meet and exceed expectations.
Princess however, has fallen fast.
