HI all, I read all the qestions posed about Regent cruises. Those of you who reference travel agents should -STOP- and call the cruise line directly. They know the answers that you ask -calling the inbound team gets you nothing .I have found that calling my regent rep using the webite for the cruise line gets you the best service and the full answers to you questions and concerns. A :)cruiser for years.

Thanks Benz, Glad you are happy with calling Regent. I like the service I received from my TA.

I have known my TA since 1980! That is more than many marriages. I get good prices and great service. If I have a problem, (rare) he fixes it. If I want to try a new line (for me) he has a good idea of what I like and what buggs me. I have learned to trust his advice. I am not going to mess up with something that works. If he ever leaves the business, then I will hunt for a new TA. In the meantime, I will just call him when I am ready to plan the next cruise.

Our TA knows tons more than Regent representatives. Suggest you get a TA that is familiar with luxury cruises -- specifically Regent. You can certainly compare the information you receive. And, if in doubt, check with your TA.

I also prefer my excellent TA to do the heavy lifting for me. My TA knows more about the Regent ships and itineraries than most of their staff. A loyal customer since 2004.

I use a TA that used to post here many years ago and her weight is worth more than gold. She is the largest seller of Regent and sails with them herself at least 4-6 times a year and often with a group. Often times a question via the customer service department will be right but with my TA you get more than right. Frequently I have asked a question and the conversation has led far beyond the original question.

We have never laid eyes on our TA yet we've been thru college graduations, the death of parents, menopause, weddings, and most recently our son accepted to college. We've known her via phone for 14 years. She has gone to bat for us repeatedly and as others have posted knows more about Regent than any one else we know. I would never rely upon anyone but her to answer my questions.

We've not seen our TA either and have been very pleased with all she has done for us. She certainly knows Regent. However, unlike so many others, I called Regent and was quite impressed by the customer service rep I spoke with (my TA gave me a number to call that isn't on the web site, but it seemed like just regular customer service)...so maybe there is some hope for that department.

The biggest problem I've had with my Regent bookings is trying to sort out the air part. Regent air department has been quite helpful (as I've reported before). When I telephoned the office of the well regarded Regent TA to see if I'd be able to get even more help on air (if I signed on with that agency), I was told that they stay away from air details-- too complicated. So I've just stayed with Regent for the various details, but will probably wind up giving my booking over to my previous TA just so I can get the onboard credits.
In short, I've found that many (most) Regent reps don't know a whole lot and aren't wildly interested in helping; some, on the other hand, are terrific and really go to bat for the customer.

I think that TA's stay away from air details because Regent has a tight hold on their air contracts and know minute to minute how many seats at their contracted price are still available. We learned the hard way that if you do not like the way they are routing you, and, you change your mind a week later, the original routing may no longer be available.

Well, my well-regarded TA has helped several times with air itineraries booked with Regent, and I've been happy with that intervention on my behalf.
