Pretty cool to see her at her new home, many of us are very excited here in Palm Beach, I like their concept of working with a resort in the Bahamas and offering packages of 4,6, and 8 days.

With the loss of the Palm Beach Princess I'm sure the Port of Palm Beach is thrilled to have Celebration coming in.
As a Palm Beach County resident, I never seriously considered taking a weekend cruise to the Bahamas. However, if the deals are good enough, I might be persuaded.

What is nice is the cruise and stay in the bahamas, we usually don't like short cruises but I think it will be a fun getaway. I am touring the ship in the next week or so, I think they are going to have an open to the public tours on March 17th....when I find out more I will let everyone know.

We're booked for April 2nd.
We got one of the freebies! We only paid the $59 per person tax and port charges (plus tips).
We're in steerage (an 8 by 10 insider, probably with bunk beds) but figured what the heck, for 2 nights we can re-live what one of our first cruises was like 30 years ago. That is if I can still get up to the top bunk!
And have not been to Freeport since the Big Red Boat days!
Should be fun. No such thing as a bad cruise.

UPDATE!
Just received a telephone call from reservations and was told the ship was booked for April 2nd.
This was AFTER I was told I had a confirmed booking.
This is a little disconcerning.
She said we could go on the 10th, so I said OK.
Let's see what happens now.
I hope they don't change the date a second time.
Very strange.

Did you end up touring the ship? Any information you could provide us? Thanks in advance.

Have you received info about your cruise yet? Do you have to go to Ft. Lauderdale to get your boarding passes? Please let us know about the cruise. We have also had some conflicting dates/info.

Thats cause the cruise line/ship/concept is and always has been for lack of a better term a DUMP!
If your gonna spend your hard earned money on a vacation, put it where you know you;ll enjoy yourself and know whats going on.
They have been trying this for years with different ship, different lines, different embarkation ports. it simply dpes not work as a budget type of vacation esspecially on an old tub that was built for cold weather transportation (not cruiseing).
Do as you wish but dongonna say "i told you so"........

I went on the cruise April 2. You were lucky you missed it! I have NEVER resorted to posting comments, but I feel compeled to not let others get "duped"! It was disgusting to say the least! I had a disgusting, filthy dirty room. I took a nice hot shower (they DO have good hot water) my first night. When I exited and started to dry off, I looked down at the towel I was using to see it COVERED IN BLOOD! Not mine, but the room attendant took dirty towels, turned them around, and hung them back up. I checked the others and found they were ALL filthy with what appeared to be bodily fluids. I had to re-shower and while soaking wet go to the desk to complain. They could care less! They came and got the towels and wouldn't even wipe down the bathroom! I was so disgusted I took pictures of all of this! The room ceiling was broken, missing peices, and covered in mold and dirt (I have pictures of that too)! There is a intercom in the room that could not be turned off. So ALL the ship's announcements were heard ALL night. The best was the 2am code blue they called in the casino! When we booked we were told we were in a outside single bed. We were stuck in a bunk. It turned out that when I spoke with others on the ship, they too were promised singles, windows, or even sweats, and were told "tuff" once they arrived. It was a total scam! Then we took their shore excursion to Lucayaw/lunch. The resaurant was covered in bird feces and the floor had a huge holes stuffed with filthy dirty rags. I took pictures and brought these concerns to the supervisor of the ship......they could care less! Another elderly couple infront of me was complaining their room stunk of urine and since they didn't take a shore excursion they were charged TONS of extra fees. Also, $20 per bag for them to bring your bags to your door (you an carry them on yourself for free, they just don't tell you). $20 per day per person for your room attendant (who does NOT obviously clean the room). Disembarking fees, ect. The food was inedible.....we lived off the rasin brand cereal. The entertainment (three performers) were the exact same each night, and STUNK. People were fed up and booing! There was a singer, a plate spinner (thats right, spun plates on a stick for 20 min. and didn't speak), then the "main" entertainer, a "comedian". He said after the show he was jumping ship by Thursday. His jokes, were NO jokes at all. 6 people in an almost empty room got up and walked out complaining. Almost everyone I spoke to said they would NEVER cruise this ship again and I agreed. We knew it wasn't going to be spectacular by reputation, but were looking forward to making the best of it or being pleasantly surprised.....we were traumatised instead. The Bahamas itself was beautiful, with beautiful beaches, and beautiful weather. Lucaya resort does have nice pools, just dont eat the "burgers and hot dogs" celebrity sets up for you. Instead, the market across the street has some great little places. Just PLEASE find another way to get there! PS I have tons of pictures documenting all these things if you need any more convincing!
