I have to admit, I am floored! Our doorbell just rang, and it was a FedEx man. With a small package. When we opened it - there were our tickets for our 7th April Monte Carlo to Venice cruise!! I certainly didn't expect them for another 3 weeks or so and I am amazed that Regent got them to us in Switzerland so early.
Now I have to hope that everything else about this cruise will be just as great!!:):)
Orpington T - have you got yours yet??

No. Like you, I never expected them yet. Do you deal directly with Regent UK?
I shall be stalking the postman now, though.

Used to be DHL, at least here in Canada, but last time it was Fedex. Never regular mail.

We are on the Mariner crossing that will be docking that morning. Our docs don't list the specific port in Monte Carlo like they do for departures, but they do list Monte Carlo at 6 AM. Believe me, I know how eager you are to begin your cruise! Just don't run over us as we debark!

Its OK Hoosier74 - we will be sitting having breakast and watching you try to find your suitcases!! when we disembarked from the Navigator at the same spot in May 2008 we had a terrible time finding ours. The terminal is rather primitive and all the bags were lined up against a wall, outside...so I hope it doesn't rain! On you or on us!
Have a great cruise - by the way, do you know if you are starting in Funchal or has that been changed?

My TA said the documents usually go straight to the agency for review... the TA office makes sure all documents are correct ..

Hambagahle,
We are actually starting at Ft. Lauderdale, but as far as we know we will still be stoping at Funchal. Interestingly enough, we had no excursions listed for Funchal for the longest time. Regent told several people, including me, that those reservations could not be made until we were on board. Then, just a few days after the storm in Maderia, the excursions appeared (obviously well inside the 180 day target...more like the 25 day target!). On the roll call, I know there are folks getting off at Funchal, and I don't know if they have other information about the port.
Certainly, our thoughts are with those who have suffered so much from the ravages of that storm.

Actually Hoosier74 that is exactly what happened to us on the Navigator on the TA last year. No shore excursions listed for Funchal and then, shortly before departure, up they popped! I think what happens is that since the first cruise ends there and the second starts there, RSSC doesn't rush to put up the excursions.
I have no idea what the conditions are like in Funchal right now, but having been there 3 times (2006, 2009 and 1952) I would not bother taking an excursion. The central part of Funchal is easy to walk around. Most people speak at least some English. Last time we went up to Monte to see the gardens (lovely!) on our own. We took the télécabine and just walked there from where the RSSC shuttle dropped us off. Then we came back down and had a nice cappucino in town. It was Sunday and most things were closed. Friends came to Monte with us and took the sled ride down. I did that in 1952 and have no wish ever to do it again!!
