Just made arrangements for a cruise in May. First time in a Verandah Suite (cat B). Says there is a frig in the room---just out of curiosity, is this like those super expensive mini bars in the hotels?

I'm not exactly sure the refrigerators in the cabin are like ones in hotels but they look a lot alike. The ones on the ship are stuffed to the gills with drinks and bar items. I usually tell our cabin attendant to have the items removed which he takes care of. It is difficult to place a can of 7-up or cola along with medications if the refrigerator is left full. left alone. Just have the cabin.

Sorry, there was a problem with transmitting my message. But if the frige is too full for your items also, then have the cabin attendant remove the stock and that should work out for you.

Yes, they are. If you want to use them for your own items, do as Marianne suggests and have the items removed, unless you find there is enough room for your items.

Not only is it a good idea to have the bar steward remove the items to allow space in the frig, but it also keeps him from checking for usage of the frig items during your cruise. 2x he entered our cabin during our recent Statendam cruise WHILE he was knocking on the door which proved to be an embarrassment for us. The first time I thought maybe I didn't hear him right away. But the 2nd time I was a witness to him knocking as his key was in the door. That man is in a hurry and doesn't take time for pax to answer the door. It's best to give back the bar items and be assured of your privacy. HAPPY SAILING!

I agree with the above poster, just returned from the Zaandam and three times the bar steward barged in the cabin, caught me unawares!! Had to cover myself with a cloth napkin!! Its best to keep your privacy sign in your lock while you are in the cabin.....jean

Welcome home Jean  !!! Wish we had seen more of you around the Lido deck ...Was getting a little worried you were the ones to have made that detour in St. Croix  I know weather up by you has been crummy, but sure hope you are feeling better.

I'm almost finished with my review...overall had a wonderful Christmas, just some problems with our cabins and wish dining service had been better, but no fault of the wait staff for sure!! Also going to post JUST some of the 500+ pics I took.

It's best to give back the bar items and be assured of your privacy As far as that little fridge goes, make sure you also check to see what is being charged. My brother had 3 bottles of Grand Marnier show up on his bill. Not one in the 11 of us in our family drink the stuff.
