View Full Version : Almost all the catagories are closed in one day! Can this be right?

I just checked online for our cruise in April and all the catagories are "closed" but about 4 catagories of OV cabins. At lunch time they were all open. Up unitl a couple of days ago there were tons of availability on all the catagories. Has anyone seen anything like this before on a HAL ship?

Seattle may have shut everything down in order to sort out inventory, and maybe start assigning guarantees. Check again later and things might be opened up again.
That happens.

Hi Helen!
I just looked at the site too...what a difference from a week ago! (What is an OV cabin?) It looks to me like all the inside cabins are still available and then some C/D/H outside cabins. If it's true, maybe we'll get enough people signed up for a Meet and Greet after all! ;)

Outside. The letters actually stand for "ocean view".

Ruth - You are a wealth of info. I just thought the whole thing was strange as I looked at the inventory about noon today and everything was open and now "boom" all the verandas are closed and only a few catagories of ov are open.

Mimigirl - " Week ago?, all this changed since lunch time today!" I didn't see any inside cabins open when I looked, I think ruth is on to something. Maybe Seattle is reshuffeling things to assign guarantees. I am glad I changed my cabin from a guarantee to a specific cabin. My luck in things like this isn't too good.

If would be nice if we could manage to round up the 25 people we need for a meet and mingle. They are so much fun!

I have seen this happen on a couple of cruises. HAL is definitely working on getting the guarantees.

I checked one of our travel agents on the net about 10 days ago, for the Volendam Christmas cruise, they had all catagories as "sold out". I sent an email to the Travel Company asking why, and was told that they were changing the prices and would be back on line later that day.
They did come back on later with the updated prices (they had gone up)
