Can we do this? The reason I ask is the exchange rate is pretty good right now from CDN to USD, I would like to pay this sooner then later to get a better deal. Is it possible to pay early? It's gone down 6 cents since I put down my deposit 1 month ago!! So I think I need to bite the bullet and pay!!

You can pay the full amount at any time you wish, just be certain that you will make more on the exchange than you would in interest if you left the money in the bank. Also, with the US$ being rather weak just now, maybe it will go down further.....jean

Also keep in mind that it might be more difficult after final payment to get a reduction if the price of the cruise goes down. It's generally fairly easy before final payment is made ... takes more wraggling once you've paid in full.

Thanks for your reponses.
I messed up when making the reservations. I forgot our money is in USD still, and I put the charges on my Canadian Credit Card. If I would have thought it through properly I would have put it on my american Credit card. Because of this I will need to exchange my monies two times!!! I just did it sooo quick as the suite was on special and so was the airfare!!!
You live in learn I guess.

Too bad you didn't tell them you wanted to pay in US$ when you booked, which is what I did when I booked a cruise for October last week. This way I am getting a better price. Will buy US $'s tomorrow and put it into the safety deposit box until it's time to make my final payment.

The US$ may yet go lower - keep an eye on it and buy when it's down - then put it in a US account - might as well earn some interest, not much probably but in an SD box it's less!
Don't think paying in full is the brightest idea - once paid in full, you're short on bargaining power if the price goes down.
We discovered that having a US$ credit card costs money (unless you're using it regularly) so have gone the acccount route. That's MHO.

I did get a USA price because it was more favourable then the CDN rate they were offering that day, and I get a staff rate for foreign currency (work at a bank).
But like I said I put USD$$ cruise on a Canadian Credit card, and am paying this credit card off with USD .....
