We booked a Cat VA aft balcony on the Zuiderdam on the Varandah deck. We would like to see some pictures of the balconies. Which deck has the biggest balconies and are the balconies covered? Thanks for any and all information.

We were in 5181 and the verandah was larger than the 4174 & 4176, but their cabins seemed slightly bigger. (maybe a foot or so longer, but no wider) Some of the afts had chaise lounges and some didn't, but I guess if you ask your cabin steward you might get one brought to your verandah. Only deck 8 is completely covered, the rest of the aft verandahs are open except for about 1 to 2 foot overhang, big enough to stand and smoke a cigarette if it's raining. As far as protection from the direct sun, there were lots of times when we positioned the chairs in the shade, but it will depend on the direction you are sailing in as to the amount of sun or shade you get.
