Any upgrades on Zaandam?

We are booked 2/19 sailing on Zaandam, category BB verandah suite. Has anyone gotten upgrades recently? We are very happy with what we have, but those S or A categories look mighty good too, especially with the extra perks!!

I see both S and A cabins are still available for purchase if you are interested.

As far as I know A has no extra 'perks' and the only difference between an A and a BB is location. I would think there is a very slim to no chance of being upgraded from a BB to an S, which has the real perks.

We were on the Zaandam Christmas cruise -- we booked a BB guarantee and sailed in an A. Though the cabins are no different we were happy to be on deck 7, delighted with our verandah and had a very mellow cruise.

thanks for the feedback. arzz, were you told ahead of time about the upgrade or was it a pleasant surprise when you arrived at the pier?

It's my experience that most upgrades come out of guarantee bookings with HAL. Otherwise, you usually get what you selected and paid for....happy sailing!

Heard about the upgrade from our travel agent 10 days before sailing. There were several on board who were booked in deck 6 verandah suites who ended up in deck 7 verandah suites. We prefer deck 7 but we found out that not everyone does. The overhang of the lido deck over the deck 7 verandah's provided me with my sensitivity to the sun, a nice shade most of the time but some missed their piece of the sky.
