GREAT PICTURES, thanks for sharing them. I board the Volendam March 20th and can't wait.
The tram in St. Thomas, looks like something I would like to do. I assume you did this on your own? If so, where do you get the tram and how did you get there?

Great pictures Allen. What wonderful memories they bring back. We've had a hard time adjusting to being back home, and I guess the only cure is to go again. Thanks again for sharing the pictures.

Doone,
The Tram is right at the main port in St. Thomas. Unfortunately, since there were 5 ships in port that day, the Volendam didn't dock there, but at the alternate port (sorry can't recall the name of the bay right now). All that meant was for us to take a second bus to the bottom of the tram. We did walk back to the ship though (5 mile walk).
We found that the tram ticket was pricey ($16 pp), but hey, we were on vacation. Of course we had a Bushwacker at the top (great way to rest, catch a view, and get buzzed). There are discount tickets for these to be found on the internet ($1 off per drink) or you can find a coupon in the local shopping promotions booklets. We both highly recommend the drink.
We LOVED the Volendam. But certainly enjoyed the people we met on her MORE!! (;) at Sage). We have to say, this last cruise had the nicest group of cruisers we have ever met and travelled with. Of course we have met some wonderful people on past HAL cruises, but as a whole, this load of PAXs were congenial, respectful, and darn friendly!!!
Thanks for the comments on the pictures. They are in their original form - no photo editing done on them. So in some cases the white balance is off, exposure could be adjusted, and colours could be corrected.
Hope you have as great a trip as we did (or better)

GREAT, thanks so much for the info, I just may give that tram a try, it must be breathtaking up there.
I had a wonderful cruise on the Volendam a couple of years ago, that's why we booked her again. Can't wait to board her. Thanks again for the information.

Sounds like you were at Crown Bay.
We will be on the Volendam in a couple of months. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
The tran is to the left when you leave the Havensight shops. I can remember when it was $10 a per person.

Krazy,
Yes, that is right!! Thanks for filling in! I can have an awful memory for names!
One other thing I forgot to mention, the tram advertises that it is 700 feet above sea level. According to my GPS, it is only 600 feet at the top of the tram. THere may be a trail that takes you that extra 100 feet up, but we didn't feel the need. The view (as you can see from the pictures) is wonderful from the restaurant.

Thanks for your pictures. First Rate! That's a heck of a walk from Havensight all the way around to Crown Bay. My hat's off to you for that one.
