luggage transport

being our first cruise,or should I say fly cruise on the 31st may,how exactly does our luggage get to the ship,and when returning,I beleive we leave it outside our room,so when shall we see it again.

Hi Chris,
For the first part it works like doing a hotel package holiday.
On landing once out through passport control with your luggage you are directed by the waiting Thomson staff to the coach.
On arrival at the port when you check in there with your stuff you are given a tag to attach to your case which tells the stewards where to take your case.

leave the case with the others at the side of the ship, and it will appear shortly outside your cabin door.

On return, leave outside your cabin door with the return tags on the evening before.
When you are called to leave the ship for your plane, pick up your case from the marquee outside and take to the coach to transfer to the airport.

As with all these things it is a lot simpler when you do it than read the instructions.
Unlike some cruise lines as long as you are out of your cabin by about 8 a.m. you are not chucked off the ship until it is time for your flight and you can use the facilities aboard.
They also provide a secure area for you to keep your hand luggage so you don't have to carry it abut all day on the last day if you have a late flight home.

On Thonpson Spirit you had to leave your case outside your cabin by 6am and you had until 9/30am to vacate your room.

We've not had a problem yet. And all 1000 are not all there at the same time. As the people arrive from different flights, they shift them aboard. We arrived last time for example about 11a.m. and the cases were outside our cabins before 1p.m.

Departure,
when they are put outside your door before being unloaded off the ship you have a coloured tag to put on and it is out in a separate section with all the other cases with same colour tags. It's to do with departure time and flights.
