I know that this may seem like a dopey question but keep in mind that it took me 9days on the Rotterdam to figure out that there was late night food in the Lido!!( This wouldn't be so bad, but understand that I went to the Lido every night for coffee and always wondered what that great smell was). So we are going to be on the "O" on Sunday, my DH loves lemonade, we're on a 13 day cruise, please help- me find the lemonade before day12!!! This is really a genuine question.

How I remember it is leomonade is brought around each afternoon, I believe just after lunch or so. The waiters in the Lido will walk around with trays of it, but other than that I haven't seen it anywhere else.

You know, last year on the Zui I remember seeing lemonade out at the taco bar by the pool, along with iced tea ... this year i only saw iced tea on the O.
Correct that: in 2003 on the Zui, 2004 on the O.
Happy New Year!

Iced tea was in a machine at the Lido by the coffee/tea on the Westerdam so may be in the same place on the OO. Juices in the morning and then around noon replaced by Lemonade and some other fruit drink. If you can't find it, ask where it is. Lemonade was passed out a few morning/afternoons by the Aft pool.
Ask a Steward if you can't find something and read your daily program for time of the "midnight" buffet.

Not a dopey question. I have been on 4 HAL cruises and have never seen a glass of lemonade being served on deck, and I was looking for it. From all the free lemonade hype on HAL message boards I had thought it was almost an all day up on Lido Deck. Well, it must be served only for a very short time after lunch, as we spend most of our time at the aft pool on sea days and have never seen lemonade served, and that's on 3 different ships.
This subject came up before and when I posted that I never saw any lemonade, I was told I must be blind, etc. Glad to see someone else didn't see it either and even doone seems to say it's not an all afternoon choice of drinks. I wish it was inside the Lido next to the ice tea. I love ice tea, but do get a little tired of it on a cruise.

On the Canada/Newengland Maasdam trip -- 14 days -- there was nothing to drink at the hamburger/taco area, just the soft drinks, wine, etc. for sale by the wine stewards. It was a pain to go the full length of the pool to the Lido just to get any drinks. I'm sure this varies by ship so who knows what we will find on the Veendam coming up soon.

Peaches, your right, it seems if you aren't at the right spot at the right time, you'll miss it. I wish they would put it out like the ice tea and water.

Just off the 10 day Christmas cruise on the Zaandam and they no longer serve free lemonade. I was told (by the lido waitstaff) to request it at the Dolphin bar. They wanted to charge me $1.75 for it. In other words, its no longer a free service on the Zaandam.
I was on the Rotterdam in Feb 2004 and Free Lemonade was served each morning around 10:30 at the main pool.
Just one of a handful of changes we noticed on our recent HAL cruise. Still had a great time and will cruise with HAL again.

I see that Esme posted (at the same minute I did) that on the Westerdam lemonade was in the Lido buffet self-service machine in the afternoon, replacing the ice tea. Glad to hear it and hope it will be the new policy now on all the ships! :)
But I know it wasn't there on the cruises we have been on. And everyone else has always posted about stewards serving it around the pool- never heard anyone mention lemonade being in the machines before.

Statendam - 21 days - Oct/Nov - lemonade served everyday at both pools and on the promenade deck at 10:30 AM. One day our wine steward saw us and brought us a special lemonade that he made himself. Iced tea was served in the same areas at 3:30.
Maasdam - 13 days - May - same times and places for both to be served.
And it wasn't posted in the daily program.

I have seen them walk around the aft pool with a tray of lemonade, but sometimes they only made one pass. If you blinked your eyes you may have missed it. ;) No way did I ever see it around all afternoon. It was more like 10 or 15 minutes, at least on the cruises I have taken.
I never saw it around the Lido pool.

On our recent Maasdam Holiday Cruise, lemonade was offered every day from 10:30am to 11:00am. Waiters carried trays of it all around the Lido Pool area. All of The Daily Programs said "10:30-11:00, Lemonade Served on Open Decks."
As for your Lido late night food - our Daily Program listed ALL the Food locations and the hours they served. It also listed any "special" items for the day (i.e., Curry Bar at Lido lunch, French late night Lido snack). Be aware the Lido probably only had one side open at night - that is probably why you missed it! Our Daily Program also listed the serving hours of all the lounges.

On all of our recent cruises it was served on the lido deck between 11 and 11.30am, but on our Zaandam Holiday cruise was told they no longer serve it. I just wish there could be some uniformity between all of the ships....jean

On the Westerdam a few weeks ago, lemonade was availabe at lunchtime in the lido - in the self serve juice machine - but at only one of the two drink stations.
Hope that helps...
