Thomson Destiny - Blakes

I have been on Destiny 3 times (latest a few years ago), I dont recall "Blakes" which I have seen mentioned here a few times. Is this a new bar or has the old one been renamed?

It's the large 'piano' bar on Deck 7 - large, with lots of sofas and comfy chairs. I think it has a tartan-type effect (carpet?) and several large TV flat screens on the walls - has it come to mind yet?

Yes Blakes is kind of tucked away - its very quiet - so good if you want to escape from the larger and more packed bars - think they do have a singer there.

entrance is on the opposite side of the stairwell to kidzone so if you dont go to kidzone you may miss that way in! also has a staircase entry from deck below and a door from the promenade deck. Lots of windows along one wall, warm and friendly, comfy sofas, had various 'live' music concert DVD's on during the day when I was on last year - and the occassional movie. Most days they have assorted board games and packs of cards you can play. It was def our fave bar :D

No!! It has been a few years since we were on it. Is it where the "nightclub" used to be as I dont remember it as this?

The only nightclub I can see you referring to is what I describe as the Oaklahoma Bar - a bar with a dance floor - this is just past the clipper bar - you can walk through to this.

I'm none the wiser! It was 2005 the last time I was on her. I know the Oklahoma, but I do think there used to be a disco which went on thru the night or am I losing it altogether?

Thats the only one that I know off - they do have the Sky Bar - right up the top - with a small dance floor - could be that - although there was not much dancing going on there, haha

Not that either!! I used the Sky bar a lot especially when leaving port. (I didnt dance either!!)

Haha - thats the only 2 I know of, and believe me, I frequenced all the bars - its was dinner - then bar - show then sky bar - back to clipper bar - back up to sky bar and then finally casino with drinks :eek:

Gosh - thats enough to make anyone dizzy, lol

We are going the week after you. Doesn't sound like there will be any drink left for us!! I am really intrigued now about "Blakes". It certainly wasn't there when we sailed before!!

haahaa - I really do not know what you two mean :eek: hence the reason I am doing the AI package this time around.

Well cannot think of any other areas - as I say - I frequenced them all - especially at night times - lets hope all the Casino staff have changed - if not - unfortuantely for me they will recognise me, hahaha ;)

We just came back from the destiny coral islands dont know if it was just us but we thought blakes had a rather lingering odour to it only ever walked through it,
Its on deck 7 aft to mid ship (grey carpet) lifts kidzone is on the starboard side blakes is port side.

when u go if u meet lana or julia be nice to them they were superb to us up in the sky bar and clipper bar.
there was 24 of us in our party so ship was almost drunk dry in a week lol esp all those cocktails of the day yum yum.

Casino staff were excellent there were 2 croatian guys who look like twins and to middle eastern girls all very pleasant. my dad won the poker tournament on the friday night £20 for 40 chips play for an hour and person with most chips at end of hour wins. Cased poker set certificate and £220 was reall good night.

Haha - thanks for the tip - did you happen to recall their names at all (think the guys were from Croatia / Slovenia - plus their boss - just preparing myself to see if they were the same people I came across!!
They saved me from some guy that took a shine to me last time :eek:

I only played the Roulette table - and that was just pure luck - but didnt loose :eek:
