Fort Zachary Park-docking at Outer Mole

Good morning! I just read that our ship (Carnival Freedom) will be docking at Outer Mole and that you MUST take a shuttle off of the dock. We just want to go to Ft. Zachary State Park --are we able to ask for this stop? According to the map, it's right next door to the dock!?! Any help you can provide will be GREATLY appreciated!

The shuttle will deposit you on Front Street where it is an easy walk to Southard and then to Fort Zach, maybe 15 min at the most.

The reason is that one must cross U.S. Navy property when leaving the Outer Mole and civilians are not allowed free access to that area.

It is just a matter of several hundred yards so it is no big deal.
