What are the most desireable aft verandahs on the Zuiderdam and why? We are looking at our first HAL cruise and would like to aquire a much sought after aft verandah VA...any suggestions on what would be a good/bad location and why would be so helpful at this time;). Thanks for your time and help!

If you like shade, choose one on deck 5, as those verandahs are completely covered. If you like a verandah that has lots of sun exposure, choose deck 4. Decks 6, 7, and 8 are in between for sun exposure.

Some people in deck 8 stern cabins are bothered by Lido pool deck noise early in the morning as deck chairs are moved around for cleaning, and some people are bothered by vibrations on deck 4.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I should have said it will be for Alaska...does that change things, LOL? I am going to assume you would have less wind back there?

I had the privilege of staying in VA6173 last May to Alaska. It met all my expectations. As far as I'm concerned, if you're in an aft cabin, you'll be very very happy. :)

I just booked Aft wrap aroundStateroom SC 6177 for our May 2011 Alaska cruise and aft wraft around Stateroom SB 7142 for our September 2011 Alaska cruises. I've pored over the photos from CC members and their descriptions on the HAL Stateroom pages and love the thoughts of them so.... Off we go in 2011 to Alasak with 6177 and 7142:D
