Thinking about booking this cruise for next Christmas. Being able to grab dinner at the lido sure sounds appealing. What sort of selection do they have? Is it really limited? I'm enjoying the 'dine when and where you want' type of cruising (Princess), but this cruise sure is tempting.
Thank you.

THe main courses will be essentially the same as in the dining room...

dcsam,
The Lido has a very nice varied selection of food to choose from.
The food stations have everything from Beef/Chicken/Fish to Italian/Chinese.
I had a terrific Salmon filet that was cooked fresh for me and the side dishes were very tasty..........rice/veggies, etc.
We'll be on the Westerdam in just a few more weeks.....2/13/05 and can't wait!!
If you have any more questions about the wonderful "O"dam, just let me know, I'm sure you'll have a great time!

We usually eat dinner at the Lido a couple of times on a 10-day cruise and find the food to be excellent. As mentioned above, they serve about the same things as in the dinning room.

We were on the "O" this past Christmas week. We only ate in the Lido one evening ( rest of the nights ate in main dining room ) when they had a poolside barbecue. It was very good, and had a big selection of entree's and desserts. Note that on the last night of the cruise which was Christmas Day the Lido was closed. We ate breakfast and lunch every day in the Lido and the food was always very good and they always had a big selection.

This is great news! I read some review that said they only had pizza and pasta - very limited. Must have been an old review. I love the thought of not having to dress up on those days when you're tired after a long day of touring.
Thanks so much!

The dinner hours at the Lido are limited, probably close around 8 p.m.
But you can still get pasta and pizza until quite late - then the "midnight snack" kicks in, with a varied menu, depending on the "theme".
There's also free room service 24 hours a day.
You won't go hungry, but it isn't the same as personal choice dining as found on Princess, NCL, etc.
