Can anyone tell me if they offer Lobster Tails on the menu in the Pinnacle?
I know when we were on the Carnival Legend their alternative restaurant offered them...huge and delicious.

We just yesterday returned from a 21 day cruise on the HAL Amsterdam from Rio to Valparaiso. We ate at Pinnacle the first night, when the charge was half price. I guess the meal was worth an extra $10, but it sure wasn't worth the usual $20, at least in my humble opinion. I don't remember seeing lobster tail on the menu. I had halibut, and it was ok, but not sensational. My husband had lamb chops that were very nice. We thought Pinacle was overrated, and did not eat there again. You sure wouldn't have any trouble getting a reservation, there were never more than two or three couples eating in there.
On the other hand, in the regular restaurant, we were served FIVE lobster meals during the cruise, two surf and turf, two meals of a full African lobster tail (not those skinny little Caribbean ones that some cruise lines call Lobster Tail) and one very good Lobster Thermador. We didn't eat in the Lido at night, but were told they had the same food. Theoretically, you could eat all the lobster you wanted during those nights.

They are not on the menu in the Pinnacle, as of our 12/12 Rotterdam cruise.
We found the food very good to excellant- although DW had the same mild opinion of the halibut as a previous poster. But, from my experience, halibut is always about the sauce or other added flavor, not about the fish itself.
I had a simply awesome Filet Mignon- melted in my mouth- barely required a knife to cut. The other courses were very good to excellant, with great arrangements, sets of complimentary and contrasting tastes and flavors. The Volcano cake was good, but not the best chocolate on board. And we are serious chocoholics.
We also have some issue with the extra fee. We went the first night, for $10 each. We thought $20 pp might be a little much in the cruise environment.
We met a couple who ate there three times in a 10 day cruise. And she was a chef!! They I consider that a pretty good recommendation.
Overall, I would say to try it, preferably on the first night, but any night would do.

Just returned from 10 day Volendam. We ate at the resturant twice. The filet was excellent as was the porterhouse. The shrimp was excellent also. Several other items such as creme brule were available during the week at the main dining room. It is worth trying for the steak.

I've not seen or heard of lobster tails ever on the printed daily Pinnacle menu, but have had lobster tails offered as part of a 'special' surf and turf in the Pinnacle.

We had dinner at the Pinnacle twice during our last cruise. We enjoy the food and ambience and feel it is well worth the extra $20. The steaks are wonderful. We both had the filet the first night and it was spectacular. I had the rack of lamb and my husband had the porterhouse and they were both divine. Especially the porterhouse. Some of our companions had the rib eye and just raved about it. Well worth the price.
The chocholics enjoyed the volcano. The baked alaska was wonderful too, prepared with Ben and Jerry's cherry vanilla ice cream. The creme brule, according to the serious creme brule addict in our party was to die for. It consisted of 3 different flavors. All excellent.
As far as the salad, I had it both times. It was out of this world, although I eliminated the goat cheese. The greens, pear dressing, pears and sun dried cherries make a fabulous taste sensation. It is quite a burst of flavor in your mouth.
All in all it is an awesome meal. No lobster tails. But, as others have said you can get those in the dining room. The Pinnacle has other delights to offer. The food in the Pinnacle is definitly not the same food that is served in the regular dining room, even if it is called the same thing, like baked alaska or creme brule. In my opinion, well worth the $20. After all you are on vacation.

They did not offer Lobster Tails on our November Ryndam in the Pinnacle but...last May on the Oosterdam in Alaska they had a small sign outside of the Pinnacle stating they were offering Lobster Tails for an additional charge above the $20.00 I am not sure but I think it was $10.00 more. On that cruise we did not go to the Pinnacle. It may have been just testing the waters so to speak. I am guessing it did not go over that well with charging more above and beyond the Pinnacle price. Also I don't think this was a good cruise to test it on. That cruise was a large number of first time cruisers and the Pinnacle looked to be empty almost every night. I am guessing most of the cruise was part of a large tour group.
