WE did this in fall '03 and liked it very much. And, yes, things were pressed (even my socks!)

We always take the laundry package that is offered on each cruise. We love the way the clothes are returned. You can have a choice of them coming back on hangers or folded in tissue paper in a basket. They are ironed, much better than I can ever manage. You can put out as many garments as you want each day.
In our 14 day cruise we well and truly received our monies worth. I think on the first day we put out more than $30 worth of laundry.

We always use one of the laundry services onboard, usually the "all you can cram into a bag for $12" package. Believe me you can get an awful lot into their laundry bags if you roll the clothing. I would never hesitate to send out anything that is washable. The pressing of dress shirts and docker type pants is superb. Nothing quite like going home with most of your clothes clean!!.....jean

Is the $50 unlimited laundry service per person or per cabin? We will be on a 16 day cruise the end of this month, and this option has a lot of appeal. Thanks for any help!!

This would be great for us as we are doing a B2B with the first segment of 14 days and the second of 12 days. This way we could get all of our washables done just before the end of the first cruise and have them nice for the second segment. Usually on ships with laundry rooms they become very crowded near the end of a cruise and I don't want to waste the transition day to do laundry on the day that the other pax are debarking. Our transition day will be in Barcelona and I would like to tour the city.

The last time we used it, in the fall of '03, it was per cabin.

They offered it on our 7 day Oosterdam New Year's cruise. We did the $12.00 per bag. They said that does not include pressing but it did. The $50.00 charge is per cabin with a 75 item limit. They may charge more on longer cruises.

When they say it does not include pressing, it meand pressing only of dry cleanable clothes. All laundry items, incl. socks and undies are ironed beautifully....jean

We just booked a 10 day cruise on the Ryndam. For 10 day cruises it is $70.00 per person ! I asked if we both had to get it or if I could get it for my husband only. His clothes really need a lot of pressing compared to mine.
The lady at Holland was quite curt and said that they better not find any ladies clothes in the bag if we did that.
When I told my husband he laughed and said he would tell them he is a cross dresser !

You might want to re-check as we've always paid per cabin....

I agree with Dave. We have always taken the package and we put out as much laundry for both of us as we need into the bag each day. I am sure it is per cabin and not per person. Who would pay $95US (13 day Prinsendam October, 2004) if they only did one person's laundry. That amounts for us around $150AUD, it certainly wouldn't be worth the money.

While on the Prinsendam in June last year we had the daily unlimited laundry for $95 a week per cabin. TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's nothing like having your laundry all neatly folded, ironed (including my little white tennis socks), and waiting for you in your cabin in the afternoon. I did my lingerie in the sink because I didn't want to have them paraded around the laundry room, but other than that, everything that was washable went into the laundry bag and came back looking wonderful.
I can't believe the customer service agent telling you that there had better not be any ladies clothing in with your husband's - something's wrong there.
Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)
