Does anyone know why yoiu can't submit immigration forms on the HAL web page? It has not been available for about 2 weeks.

Seems like the HAL web site is down right now. Maybe they are loading the 2006 itineraries in there now, one can hope anyways.

I am printing out one and bringing it with me just in case, unless you trust computers completely.

I know that this has been posted on other threads.
As well as submitting the form you must print, sign it and present it at check in at the pier. I was told last year that it must be submitted two weeks prior to the cruise for the info to get onto the computer on the ship. I do not know if this is still the case. In any even, the sooner it is submitted the better.

Any truth to rumors that at embarkation, the line-ups for those who have submitted over the internet are longer than for those who haven't????
I think I remember reading that someone who had in fact submitted their forms over the internet, ended getting in the line for those who hadn't, since it was shorter....
Note to self: shorter doesn't always mean faster when it comes to lineups...I suppose they have to enter all the info manually, which probably takes more time...

I have seen this happen. However, there should be a red jacket person who is keeping an eye on the lines and will move people to other lines if necessay.

I made an addition to my immigration form just the other day. Was working fine then. I've always filled them out online and then taken a hard copy with me. Never had to stand in a long line. Guess it depends on how many show up at any given time. Good luck.

When we embarked in Norfolk, we were in the line for people who had completed their docs on the internet. The only other line seemed to be for suite pax. Our line was long - but the real issue was that there were a good number of people who had not completed at least a portion of their documentation (i.e. credit card form and the like) - rather than pulling them aside so they could complete the paperwork elsewhere, they were being allowed to complete them at the check-in desk, thus holding up everyone else who had done their paperwork.
Frankly, I was surprised that a HAL staff person was not checking docs while people were still in line. I've seen this done on Princess and Celebrity and it seems to help speed things up considerably. Just my two cents.

I think that this might have been a Norfolk problem. They only have an embarkation every 10/11 days.
I have checked in at FLL, San Diego, Seattle and Vancouver where they have 2 or more ships a week. There always seems to be a redoubtable lady in a red jacket or red vest, who may have been in the Marines at one time. She checks if the immigration form and credit card application have been filled out. If not, you are directed to a counter or table to do so.
