I understand that Signatures does not deviate from their menu, but can anyone tell me if they have any accomodation for vegetarians? I don't want to reserve it if they won't make me anything to eat! We are on the Voyager Baltic on July 28 and the restaurant reservations open in a few days... Thanks!

Here is a link to their menu http://www.rssc.com/media/ships/seven_seas_voyager/dining/VOYSignaturesDinner.pdf
There are a few vegetarian items. . . . As you said, they do not deviate from their menu.
In my opinion, Prime 7 has the most options for vegetarians (rather surprising!). They seem to have more choices. Keep in mind that you can order larger (or smaller) portions of most items. For instance, you an order a main course portion of a salad. Here is a link to the P7 menu:

I'm not a big fan of Signatures, I am just way too picky an eater, but I seem to recall that Signatures always had 1 vegetarian dish in each course offering. Of course, if you don't like that one course then you just have to skip it since there is only one choice. You could go ahead and make reservations, then once onboard check out the Signatures menu and if it doesn't suit you, then you can cancel. Good luck, Debbie

My son is a vegetarian, and I am 90% vegetarian. We have never had any problem finding things to eat in Signatures. There is always at least one vegetarian appetizer, soup and main course. Now if you ate there more than once during a menu rotation, you would be possibly eating the same things.
Prime 7 is NOT vegetarian friendly in my opinion, unless you are happy to have a meal of side dishes and salads.
There is always at least one vegetarian option in CR, plus you can always get pasta if you don't like that. Also more variety in appetizers, etc.

My wife is a vegetarian and I agree completely with RachelG above. She comes to Prime 7 with me for my sake but is not too happy with the choices, usually making a meal from a selection of the side dishes.

Well you can tell that I'm not a vegetarian (nor do I love Signatures). I thought the Portabella Mushrooms, French Onion Soup and one of the salads at P7 sounded better than Camembert Quiche, Mushroom Soup and "potato pithiviers" spinach salad at Signatures (have no clue what that last item is). It's good that there are choices:)

Yeah but...French onion soup is usually made with beef broth, right?? When they say "vegetarian", do they mean that it's really vegetarian?
(I'm not, but I used to be, and often go meatless, but don't care about the beef broth. But a real vegetarian would. Let alone were the dishes cooked on a grill that hadn't just had a steak on it.)

I had no clue that onion soup was made with beef broth. That's surprising. I'm a wanna be vegetarian -- love animals so much -- maybe someday. Thanks for the info.

My son does not like to eat food that has been on a grill that has just had meat on it, and he hates getting something that is supposed to be vegetarian but has meat in it, even if he can pick it out. Once we were at a restaurant that had veggie burgers. His came with a big slice of bacon on top! I suggested just taking off the bacon, which he did, but he really wasn't happy about it.
He also doesn't eat real caesar salad because of the fish in it. Even if you ask them to leave it off, the dressing often has some.

Rachel, I'm with your son! I get very "grossed out" if any meat touches my food and always ask what kind of stock a soup is made with. Many restaurants are happy to cook things like veggie burgers in a separate pan. It's a LOT easier than it was 32 years ago, when I became a vegetarian at age 10! It used to be that the best I could do out was a salad and baked potato, or pasta with red sauce if we went to an Italian restaurant...

I remember my poor Indian kids (employees) who were proud to be adjust to Canadian food as vegetarians, when they learned how cheese was made!

I'm vegetarian and just returned from the Mariner, actually. :)
I scoped out every eating place for veggie options & found my favorite place to eat was La Veranda, mostly because of the wonderful salad bars.
For the first couple of days I had difficulty finding vegetable protein options...at all! I mean there weren't even any beans on the salad bars! So when we received the survey early in the cruise I did mention this (asking for veggie protein options, suggesting quinoa, beans, sprouts, seeds/nuts). Now, maybe it was just coincidence, but 2 days later (and from then on) I found a veggie protein at every meal, particularly at the buffets. There were dishes made with lentils, garbanzos, etc.
In Signatures, I let them know ahead of time (called & asked if I had any options since we had a reservation) and was happy with the results. There were indeed 3 vegetarian options on the menu, however our server suggested replacing the entree with the one from CR that evening because she thought it was better, and it was great.
P7 was more a problem. I had an assortment of side dishes, but no protein choices at all....lots of mushroom options. lol But yes, the French onion soup is not veggie, nor is it 'advertised' that way!! Neither was the mushroom soup (chicken broth). Watch out for the green beans - bits of bacon, but the server caught it before it was served. BTW they already knew I was vegetarian w/o my telling them, I guess from my call about signatures before.
Also, after I phoned reception with my question about Signatures, I received a printout of the entire CR menu in my suite every morning, with instructions to let them know if I especially liked something. I thought this was commendable on their part, however I never did do this because the CR options were not very apealing...to me anyway, so we just ended up there a handful of times. If you are interested in the more starchy veggie options though, they had several dishes made with polenta & pastas.
Sorry I know this is getting long, but also at the Grill on deck 11 there are about 5 meatless burger options too!!! I'm sooo missing those La Veranda salads!!!!

I love starchy veg options, but you do have to have protein too. My son never had any problems though Prime 7 would have been had he been forced to eat there every day.

Thanks so much, Byrdeyeview! Do you suggest that I contact Regent before my cruise, or just let them know I'm vegetarian upon boarding. They were very gracious about getting my husband's favorite brand of vodka for our cabin, so perhaps they might stock some tofu for me?

Contacting Regent is a good idea and I anticipate that they will be happy to provide this for you. In fact, if my memory serves [since I don't eat tofu] they have it cubed at the La Verandah buffet and there were some Compass Rose menu items based on it during the cruise ..........but it's still better to contact since this is important to you.

Really, I don't think you will need to contact them ahead of time, but of course it couldn't hurt. I did see several tofu items from time to time too...sorry, neglected to mention those, probably because I don't do all that well with processed soy! They were in CR menus a few times as I recall. :) But I never did see any quinoa or less common veggies like kale & chard, so I'm thinking I may request those weird ones before I go next time...at least the quinoa since it's a whole protein.
Honestly, I hadn't even notified them on board on previous cruises & didn't have a problem, but this time the protein seemed to be more scarce, the lovely Asian fushion restaurant was replaced by more meat lol, & I had avoided Signatures because all I could find was a rice dish back then. So they have improved a bit in that area I think. .....Maybe notifying them ahead IS better because it does draw their attention to vegetarians!
