On May 22 the Smithsonian Museum will open a new exhibit of Native Alaskan artifacts in Anchorage. Some of these 600 rare objects have never been seen in public before.

Looks like the Anchorage Museum is a nice walk from the Westmark, where HAL puts AK cruise-tour guests. If you've got time to kill before your bus, train or plane leaves, this might be something to check out. :)

Thanks for that link...I copied it onto the Amsterdam 14 day roll call thread that should be of interest as the Amsterdam will actually be docking in Anchorage this summer.

That should be great. In past years we've seen some Smithsonian exhibits there, and the new one should be even better. Everyone who can, please enjoy it. We're leaving from Anchorage on the 21st after our granddaughter graduates from high school. :(
