Like many of you, I contacted Thomson's about the change to the AI package and had the standard reassurance from them that the revised AI was a trial and that AI would now revert to "normal".

I also contacted my local Thomson travel agent a week ago, asking a similar question about the AI - a belt and braces approach. This is the reply I received today:

Sorry for the delay, we have been advised that the all inlcusive package are now only house brands, this will be throughout Thomson Cruises and there will be selected cocktails on selected nights. They have now stopped offering the All Inclusive Package for this summer for new bookings to reflect this however there will still be a large selection of all inclusive drinks for your cruise

This is clearly at variance with the message received earlier from Thomson customer services.

Where does this leave us? I shall contact customer services again to see what, if any, response I receive.

addition - I just checked the Thomsons website and they are offering free AI for Celebration in september, incuding international brand spirits and coffees etc.
At the moment i would not believe what Thomsons tell you

don't bother contacting Thomsons as the lines of communications between Thomsons cruises and travel agents seems to run several days behind the actual sequence of events.

The ONLY way we will get to know what is happening is as reports of cruises come in. Spirit turned around yesterday and Destiny today. hopefully reports of those on board will be with us soon.

To illustrate the confusion Thomsons website is still selling full price AI packages for this summer. They also state that there are international branded spirits and coffees etc. Obviously there is also confusion within Thomsons HQ.

Does any other cruise company offer free AI? Thomson website always seems to be out of date, they are still stating that choosing your cabin costs £35 when it's been £39 for months.
