We've booked a stern cabin (which we love) on the navigation deck on the westerdam. anyone ever say in one of these rooms in any vista line ship. They look like they have more privacy and are sort of tucked under the lido deck.

We had the corner aft suite on the navagation deck on the Zuiderdam. The balcony was huge and totally private. However, the cabin is about 100 sq. ft. smaller than the side suites.

If you are booking a category "A", those balconies are very large also and private. The rooms looked around the same size as the side cabins but I couldn't say for sure. I didn't stay in these rooms, only looked inside.

The A aft cabins on decks 4 & 5 were slightly narrower (maybe 6 to 12" at most), but deeper (2 to 3 feet) than the mid-ship BB's we saw. So the comparison was a lot more square feet if you include the verandah. What I had previously read was that if you get the aft verandah you get less cabin area, but that is not the case for the cabins (vs. Suites).
