Have decided not to go for the SS after all as the S is affordable for the cruise we have chosen. Most of the cabins are available, and am not sure whether to choose an aft suite or a midships one.

Anybody with any experience, views of pictures, please help.

Many thanks.

If you want a huge balcony, go for the corner aft suites. We are sailing with 5 girls, putting 3 in a suite, 2 in the mini suite next door and we chose the aft corner suite. The balcony is huge. If you are looking for pictures, Candy put up some great pictures, search for her screen name and you should come up with the pictures. Hope this helps.

I have pictures of Westerdam Suite 7055, right across from the Neptune Lounge.

Still not sure whether to go for an aft 6158 or 7049. Does anybody know if the suites are a lot smaller at the aft, as the balconies look awesome. A little worried about the vibration at the aft - anybody got any thoughts.

Thank you all for your input - the pics are great.

We prefer the side S's. We really enjoy the Neptune Lounge and Concierge Service and it is closer to our suite when we are midship or a little further forward. We would rarely, if ever, make use of it if we were aft (most pax in aft suites report on here that they hardly ever used the Neptune's services) and we think it is the best perk offered with an S or PS. The balcony is larger aft, but the side balconies are way more than adequate for us (large dining table with 4 chairs, another small cocktail table and 2 lounges or comfy chairs w/ ottomans) and we love having the larger cabin in a side suite.

It really is a matter of personal preference and nobody can say which you would prefer.

Peaches, do you have any idea how much smaller the aft cabins are. Also I find the HAL website pretty poor and cannot find out much about Neptunes. Can you lead me to any good threads. We have never cruised HAL before, so this is all new to me.

Many thanks.

Does anyone know if the SS handicapped corner suites have a wrap around balcony?
Also, which bathrooms are nicer...the handicapped or the regular suite baths?
We have the opportunity to book a HC at the last minute. Evidently, HAL has released this stateroom as it is not needed. There are also some regular SS available.

The two corner SS suites (5001 and 5002) appear to have a wall between the side balcony and the forward public area, so no wrap.

The Cat S bathrooms are awesome. The Cat SS are also large but have no separate dressing room. The handicapped bathroom we had in 6167 was large, but only had one sink, the shower sprayed on the toilet and the room was so dimly lit it's amazing some handicapped person hasn't had an accident. Yours may not be configured exactly the same, so maybe your TA could find out.

Oh thanks! I just looked at your pics and saw some of the regular bath on another site. I love the regular bath in the SS! I am sure the S would be even nicer with the dressing area. What about closet space in the SS?

We just got off the Westerdam on Sun We were in S5186 (aft corner). We loved being on the back of the ship with the huge balcony. We were in 4165 on the Zuiderdam last year and while the balcony was the sam size the 5186 cabin was larger. We noticed very little vibration. Since we try to walk whenver possible & take the stairs, the proximity to everything was not an issue.
