Are the in the cabins on the Destiny, or will the wife have to bring her own?

Hi
Not sure if they are standard issue in Steerage. Maybe in Suites/Staterooms. We always take a Travel Size.

Yes, hair dryers - even in steerage! ;) They're not too powerful though so whether you would want to take your own could depend on how thick/long your wife's hair is and if she feels a less powerful one will do the job.

In the brochure it says (page 186) "Kettles and irons are not permitted in cabins for safety reasons" BUT on the plug in the cabins on the Dream it says no irons or hairdryers:confused:
We took our kettle and just put in away in the cupboard when not in use, so suggest you do the same with hairdryer;)

Voltage in cabin is 110 V except the tv socket which is very hard to access and your lead for your hairdryer may not be long enough.
You can use hairdryers if they will work and also use hair straighteners if they will work with the voltage. In the corridor outside the cabin the plus is 230 V so my wife warms her straighteners in the corridor and dashes back in to the room and uses them before they cooldown !
Kettles if found to be in use in cabin will receive a letter of warning from reception ( likewise irons ) - and the bridge will know too if it sets of the alarm as it says on the bridge which cabin it is ( that is totally true not speculation )

Well, at the boat drill Stephen Guy gave out a message saying that irons and hairdryers are not allowed in cabins. Also, as I said, that is what it said on the socket in the cabin. I used my kettle every morning and no-one said anything to me. Maybe the dream is different to the other Thomson ships:confused:

Mmm,hairdryers, tongs etc permitted but irons and kettles
I can understand why personal electictric equipment like kettles and irons are not permitted and i`m guessing its because they have not had a safety check but would have thought the same would apply to hairdryers/tongs/straighteners

Just back from the Destiny and I found that the dryer in the cabin was sufficiant for drying my hair and it is past my shoulders in length. I did take my ladyshave with me and that was totally usless as the power was not strong enough to run the blades. The best place i found for drying my hair was the cabin for the front and then let the rest dry while enjoying a drink on the back outside Oklahoma bar :-)
have a drinks list will post it when I have it scanned.

I normally think, I'll probably never see these folk again so it doesn't really matter does it:D
Now, Spirit, is there a hairdryer in the cabin or not?

I only take my travel dryer and straighteners that do 110v as plugging a 230/240 into these sockets can overload them.
Why is it that we are given rules about do's and don't but us British have the need to want to break them?
Yes that includes me - taking 6 bottles of beer onto NCL when you can't take any on and do you know they just waved me on and said 'enjoy'

Yes, just back from Spirit. Like Destiny, hairdryer in drawer of dressing table. This one seemed newer/more powerful than some I've had in the past.
