We're familiar w/HAL's policy when sailing from FLL & NY where boarding usually commences between 11 & 11:30. However, tomorrow morning we'll set sail from Seattle on the 14-day Amsterdam cruise and cannot find the info on boarding time in any of the online docs I printed out.
It would be most appreciated if someone can provide me with the info. Thanx.

I am sure you know that sailing is 5 pm.I was told that most HAl cruises you can't get into your room until 1pm.I hope my pick up isn't until 12.We want to do the Duck Tour in the am prior to boarding. We will be sailing on the cruise after yours.Have a fabulous time on this magnificant cruise itinerary

I just booked parking for our July 12th cruise on the Amsterdam, and the information from Pier 91 parking said not to arrive before 10 AM, although I don't think we will be able to board near that early. On the 12th, the Amsterdam is the only ship at Pier 91, so it should not be as congested as some have reported this year.

I had printed out the itinerary for the Amsterdam cruise several months ago and, at that time, it indicated departure from Seattle as being 4 p.m. I have seen nothing to the contrary since then.
I also booked an advance reservation with Pier 91 for parking. It came out to a heck of a lot less than the hotels and local parking garages were asking for and it's so much more convenient.

The boarding times for Seattle are the same as in Florida.
I am on the June 28th sailing.....and it says sailing time is 5:00.
On my last trip out of Seattle I was safely aboard by 11:30....and eating ice cream soon after that! I was amazed that my room was ready that early....so I went right down to check it out. I later found out that only 300 passengers had boarded in Seattle for the Grand Voyage. The rest got on in Vancouver and Los Angeles. This time it will be different.....and don't expect rooms to be ready until much later in the afternoon. That's OK.....I can still eat ice cream!!

Thanks, Karen, for the heads up. We've been here in Seattle for the past three days sightseeing and, more importantly, enjoying the wonderful fresh seafood this city has to offer. It would have been nice if Mother Nature had not been in a PMS mode during our entire visit -- chilly/rainy/breezy/raw -- but we didn't let that stop us from taking our daily walks down to the waterfront to stuff ourselves on great crab bisque, outstanding oysters on the half shell, and steamed Dungeness and King crab as the grand finale. That we waddled back to the hotel each evening, albeit well satisfied, is an understatement. :D:D

wow....You ARE brave!! I know exactly what the weather has been.....I live just across the water from Seattle. It is AWFUL....cold and wet. I wish it had been nice for you.....hopefully the Alaska weather will be better. I am just hoping that summer starts here sometime soon!!

Same weather we're having up here in Vancouver, BC too! Let's hope that mother nature gets rid of all this rain out of her system by the 28th!

We will be on Amsterdam July 12th, and would like to have suggestions for fresh seafood. We would prefer something casual on the waterfront like we have enjoyed in Vancouver, rather than a "nice" restaurant. This will be our first time to Seattle, so any information would be welcome!

We are also on the May 31 sailing. We plan to leave the hotel around 11am, which should put us at pier 91 a little before 11:30. I can't wait to get on board so the sooner the better for me!:D
I am hoping the weather is not rainy everyday in Alaska but if it is I have my waterproof jacket and shoes and will make the best of it. I plan to be outside everyday with my binoculars scanning for wildlife.
See everyone on board, or at the meet and greet Tuesday!

We're here too in damp and rainy Seattle - just waiting for our shuttle to take us over to Pier 91 at 11AM. Nothing - not the gray skies and predications for rainy weather - could supress the excitement we feel about boarding the Amsterdam in a few short hours. Bring it on! Southbound and FPM - SEE YA ONBOARD! Woo-hoo - our long-awaited trip is FINALLY here! Bon Voyage to US!!!

Just walk down to the waterfront and check out the restaurants....they range from very low key to fancy. IVARS has an indoor sitdown that can be pricey...but check out their happy hour prices...pretty good. They also have an outdoor bar with a covered heated area where you can sit. Steamers is also very casual. The Crab Pot is fun......they dump your food out on the table when you order a seafood mixture. There is always a line waiting to get in however. Fishermans (all the way out on the pier past the Crab Pot) is a favorite of mine. It is right on the water....and the menu is a range of prices.
Anyway......have fun and enjoy the Seattle Waterfront and Elliott Bay.
PS....there are also lots of little places to eat in Pike Place Market......but they are not on the water.

I visit the beautiful city of Seattle often, as my daughter goes to school there. I've found the greater Seattle Chowhound pages to have lots of good advice about local eats, especially the wonderful seafood. I would highly recommend anything poster Armitage suggests. If you love fresh oysters try Elliots at happy hour, they have great specials and usually have a marvelous selection to chose from. Sadly, most of the restaurants that offer a spectacular ocean view either don't have that great a menu or charge a fortune. There will be many suggestions on that board for you to pick from and they vary from truly 4 star places to small mom & pop places. Enjoy! http://chowhound.chow.com/boards/63

Expect various types of rain at least occasionally through mid July....it keeps us green :).
